I am THRILLED that this is now officially announced! It has been such a treat to dig into the McCoy era of Doctor Who for my sophomore Archive. If you like dragons, heroes, and exploring caverns looking for treasure, you might want to pick this up. 🐉🎲

EU announce a new obligatory 2 euro handling fee on top of the 3 euro customs fee introduced last month. This is all apparently to stop cheap Chinese goods reaching Europe - does kind of bollocks up shipments of books from the UK though. Just another 'benefit' from the bigots who brought us Brexit.

Nice to see that my contribution to Obverse Books' Black Archives, #68, is now available in a bundle alongside some excellent authors. The reprint includes updates to cover the Blu-ray release, too.

To soften the blow of the new prices, and because I know some folk wait for the 10 book bundles - plus I don't want to start charging them more when they're both patient and loyal! - we've released the next bundle early (books 61 - 70), and we'll hold it at the old price until the end of the month.

And remember, if you're wanting to order a pile of Archives at once - particularly, but not exclusively if you're not in the UK - it's worth dropping the support email address a line and we can see if we can get as cheap a shipping option as possible (the damn prices seem to change almost daily!)

The price of Archives has only gone up once in 10+ years since 2016 and printing costs have gone up many times since then, to the extent it now costs me money to sell copies of some of the longer Archives! As a result, we're scrapping the 5.99 sale price on the website from next week.

Sorry about that but we've kept the price as low as possible for years, and adding a couple of pound on to a book is only an extra pound a month, so I hope you'll keep supporting the range (though if you can't afford to, we obviously totally understand!) Next up - Frontios and Tomb of the Cybermen!

Another hugely enjoyable @blackarchive.co.uk . A spirited and rich attempt to reclaim an often maligned and ridiculed serial as the boundary stretching example of television experimentalism that it is. An overdue shooting down of lazy takes. Bravo. (1/2)

Oddly, in spite of having considerably fewer employees than Sony (we have one - me; Sony have more than one), if you bought an ebook from Obverse when we opened our doors 18 years ago, we guarantee you will still have a copy today (just drop me a line with your order number if you can't find it!)

The Black Archives are a fabulous set of books. Very much looking forward to this one about a favourite Patrick Troughton story.

Sometimes I'm watching Dr Who and I hear a line and think that'd be perfect for the back of a Black Archive. Like this one from K9 & Company... 'Witchcraft, it's very romantic but this is 1981.'

Cracking @blackarchive.co.uk from Brigid Cherry on Web Planet, a fave of mine, but unloved by a lot of fandom. This explores its position as experimental TV, use of puppetry and feminist theatre as well as its roots in environmentalism and WW2. Also you learn all about Roslyn de Winter. Recommended!

Hi I’m Chloe and I make these small-scale lively handmade mixed media original drawings, these four are still available just in case this is useful info. Actual art at all too reasonable prices. And if you can’t afford it, thank you for looking and sharing etc. #art www.chloecumming.com

I whizzed through this over the weekend. As intricate a case study of televison as you would expect from David, full of insight and connections through a dizzying array of sources. There are already a number of rich, rewarding books about Doctor Who's foundational days. This, happily, is another.
