found out that my mother in law decided she was aggressively pro trans rights literally by going, I don't know anything about this but everyone who is against trans rights is also against free school lunch, the issue I know and care a lot about, so this must be the correct way to feel about this

Exactly a week ago I took this picture of my cat Poppyseed from an unflattering angle and I have not been able to stop thinking about it

HOLY SHIT. In a sworn statement yesterday, an ICE agent told a federal judge that an ICE flight to Equatorial Guinea had been cancelled and so couldn't be used to bring Ahmed Soliman back to the United States. The plane just landed in Equatorial Guinea. prospect.org/2026/10/23/t...

We have to think about collapsing Trump poll numbers and Rs turning on him the same way we'd think about finally being able to corner a rabid raccoon in your garage. Good news: he's out of options. Bad news: he's a rabid raccoon.

This 2022 piece by Jeremy Peters In the New York Times was hilarious bullshit when it was published but now that Musk is literally bankrolling the entire Republican Party it’s a fucking laugh riot.

The emissions from a single coalmine expansion might not seem like a lot compared with the scale of global emissions - but every tonne of CO2 has a consequence. Here are some of them

for this piece I experimented with using an isometric game map editor to make these drawings/dataviz... I am pretty happy with how it turned out despite the grim content

This blog does little more than explain that their justification for surrender to GenAI's expansion into publishing is "it's too late, we have no choice but to give up and ask them nicely to at least use the theft engine responsibly." It's aggressively insufficient. We deserve better.

Our position on generative AI remains unchanged. But an increasing number of organisations within the publishing industry are using the technology. In her blog post our CEO sets out why we want to see the adoption of cross-industry standards. buff.ly/DCPZPY2
