This is also true of antibiotics. We were told to stop asking for them at the doc. And that's not wrong! Don't ask for antibiotics when you don't need them. But the VAST majority of antibiotic overuse is by agriculture. It's past time to have a conversation about Big Farm.

Sarah Taber@sarahtaber.bsky.social

The ag lobby really, really, really, really, really, really, really wants you to think AI is the reason reservoirs are going empty. It's not. It's agriculture.

In all the adaptations I’ve seen, they call him Ebenezer as well as Scrooge. His first name is known and part of his identity. Whatever, this timeline is really annoying. Instead of this dumbassery, I will be watching “The Muppet Christmas Carol” for the 50th time.

Bloody Disgusting@bloody-disgusting.com

OFFICIAL POSTER - Johnny Depp is Scrooge in director Ti West's A Christmas Carol movie EBENEZER, in theaters November 13, 2026 from Paramount. Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellen, Sam Claflin, Rupert Grint, Daisy Ridley and Tramell Tillman also star.

The young (and hip) director of Backrooms is anti-AI. This is not rocket science. Many, many, many people appreciate creativity and art and effort. It makes a difference. Audiences will show up.

I pay $1,000 a month for my health insurance and just had to shell out $4,000 to meet a deductible before getting a necessary to my quality of life procedure. I'd say I'm more in the Tin Age. Maybe Aluminum.

Under Trump: -Household electricity costs are up 18% -Ground beef prices are up 22% -Gas prices are up 40% -ACA out-of-pocket premiums are up 58% -Inflation is at a three-year high "New Golden Age" for who?

Y'all. Every single fucking lie, cheat, felony that this president engages in would be impeachable for another president. It's normalization through bombardment.

This story is crazy. It would appear Trump admin officials rigged their nationally televised high school civics contest to keep a young man from a Sikh family out of the finalists. www.notus.org/national/ame...

One doesn't have to ask this! Scientists know the answer. These kind of outbreaks have been increasing because of deregulation and defunding agencies and poor working conditions.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

Now that we’re in the midst of the largest recorded outbreak of cyclospora in U.S. history, one has to ask: How did human excrement get into our food?

bethhicks.bsky.social reposted

Oh look! We found the origin of the cyclospora outbreak. A vapid turd spouting bullshit.

Scalise: "Anybody that gets on an airplane has to show a picture ID to vote. Nowadays, if you want to go to Olive Garden and get unlimited pasta, you gotta show a picture ID. This isn't complicated stuff."

We are living in the most unserious timeline. Of course people are going to urinate on the sculpture! He was a virulent racist and misogynist! And the statue is UGLY. Genuinely ugly. Fittingly so but still.

Jezebel@jezebeldotcom.bsky.social

Italian sculptor Sergio Furnari says the project has become a nightmare—leaving him down six figures, nursing a broken foot, and fielding messages from people promising to urinate on it www.jezebel.com/the-sculptor...

Look I hate AI a fuckton very much and I wouldn't wish consciousness on it even if I thought it was possible. I spend my days wondering what the hell I'm doing with my life. My rice cooker should not have to suffer the same fate, thanks.

I’m a Ghoul’s Girl@saraghaleb.bsky.social

The thing with “is ai conscious?/will it become conscious?” Is there is zero practical or business incentive to build a tool that has opinions. Would you buy a toaster that is capable of resenting you? Or a TV that won’t put on the show you want because “it’s boring”? What’s the market??

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

Ride or Die. It is an absolutely BLAST, y’all. The rare film to acknowlledge that women’s best love stories are with each other and themselves. And Octavia is written as MODERN, finally

Watched the whole thing in three days. She is SO good in this. They gave her an inner life and joy and rage and sex and friendship and and and. It's also kickass as hell.

A lot of political pundits will go on CNN or MSNBC and yell at each other and call each other liars. Then in behind the scenes footage, you see them joking about their plans for the weekend. Mainstream punditry is so much fucking theater.

"Animal Farm" was THE worst movie I've seen in at least a decade and it's not even close. How about worrying less about whether your movie is politically correct and worry about whether or not it's good, dude.

Hate to say it, but he was on the cutting edge of a lot of changes in the entertainment industry that in my opinion made movies worse

I'm not sure Democrats understand the shit people will endure to make sure a bunch of milquetoast dildos don't get elected only to insist that we "move on." They're acting like midterms are a lock. Dems need extraordinary turnout to account for massive disenfranchisement and I'm not sure they get it

shauna@goldengateblond.bsky.social

it’s hard to explain how much shit like this has radicalized people. like i’m a white middle-aged broad who’s always been liberal but i’ve gone full-on “abolish ICE/reform scotus/the next dem candidate must commit to mass prosecutions” and you will not sway me from that position.

My 77-year-old mom is a white lady on a farm in PA who used to vote R most of the time. Now she's ready to throw hands about ICE, trans rights, police brutality, repro rights, all of it. People are not gonna be happy with some bullshit establishment Dem return to center.

I once had a hysteroscopy last 30 minutes. No painkiller except the minimal numbing of the cervix. I shook for an hour after. And my doctor is GOOD. She’s working with the tools available to her. Enough.

19thnews@19thnews.org

Trials found that Carevix — a portmanteau of “care” and “cervix" — reduced pain during IUD insertion by up to 73 percent and bleeding by 78 percent, compared to the tenaculum.

I’ve been watching World Cup games off and on and I’ve noticed that the sidelines are riddled with ads for AI. While the most skilled, talented athletes from around the world participate in this very human activity, ghouls tell us we should use AI. I’ll pass, Lenova.

It is an actual sickness to place professional courtesy over the tangible harm Lindsey Graham did to his country and the people in it

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

What I’ll remember most about Senator Graham was his sense of humor and how he deployed it to move his policy positions forward. Though we did not often agree, Senator Graham was never disagreeable.

The World Cup inspires some banger history quips and this is my favorite.
