Publication day! 🥳🎉🙌 My collection "After You Were Lost" was published by WATG Press today. It's a collection that means a lot to me, and I'm excited that people will finally get to read it. All of the 23 flash and micro stories within deal with grief in different ways. Something I know much about.

In 2014 I published what would become one of my most shared and taught essays, 12 Fundamentals of Writing the Other (and the Self). Now you can read it without giving a click to the A.I. slop factory known as Buzzfeed. www.patreon.com/djolder/post...

leftist plan to increase the birthrate: - universal health care - free child care - better paid family leave - better workforce protections so they can't lay you off while you're pregnant and be like "no it was for something else i swear" ok i did it www.npr.org/2026/01/12/n...

npr.orgAs birthrates tumble, some progressives say the left needs to offer ideas and solutionsThe US and other countries face aging, shrinking populations. Conservatives have shaped debate over the issue. Some liberals say it's time for progressives to weigh in.

This seems like something you’d be sentenced to…like for a crime. Not something you’d ever want. 😬

If Dems talked like this regularly, we wouldn't have to focus on "how to win close elections in difficult environments." We would have a lot fewer close elections, and a lot fewer difficult environments.

Walz is out of Fs: "Not a single Republican supported this, so every Minnesotan from here on, whoever uses this program, there is no bit of thanks that would go to the R legislators who did all they could to stop this ... our schools have money to pay their teachers? I'll take credit for that too."

it's a massive failure of our society that we have allowed companies to distance themselves from the horrible things said by their AI, which has been created to represent them. if your AI says it, it should be equivalent to a live human person making the same statement, and treated accordingly

“The billionaire class has sought to convince those making $30-an-hour that their enemies are those earning $20-an-hour. They want the people to fight amongst ourselves so that we remain distracted from the work of remaking a long, broken system.” -Zohran Mamdani

Was horrified to get “bed rotting” until I looked it up. Sounds pretty good, actually! 😆

Next time someone says they don’t have to apologize for being white anymore, ask them to tell about the most recent time they were forced to apologize for being white and who made them do it.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that the 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a lab virus from vaccine research, a defective influenza vaccine. Let’s analyze what a lie this is. First, in 1918, 107 years ago, virology was in its infancy

You can learn a lot about a person based on who their favorite Muppet is. Not sure what this says about me…but I always loved this sad, shy, kind, giant and felt kind of protective of him.

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean. I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.

Bill Corbett@billcorbett.bsky.social

We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
