Don’t fall for Trump’s efforts to convince the public he’s changing course on immigration. It’s meant to distract and stop the protests. Nothing more. joycevance.substack.com/p/ice-gettin...
Moneybags Homan. Next man up.
The Trump administration is painting Border Czar Tom Homan as a less extreme and more professional alternative to the leadership of the recently removed Border Patrol head, Greg Bovino, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. But his record tells a much different story.
The blame game has commenced. Dracula vs. Cosplay Barbie. Hope they kill each other.
The blame game heats up: A few days ago they were confidently smearing a murdered man as an “assassin” - now Noem is whining that it’s all Miller’s fault and Miller is blaming Customs and Border Patrol for bad info. They all need to go down. www.cnn.com/2026/01/27/p...

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him. “When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."
Every time I hear a Dem say we can get the Repukes to work with us, I want to take them out back and beat them silly with their own stupidity. www.politico.com/live-updates...

NEW: Police officers are being told to “be as vague as permissible” about why they are using the Flock surveillance system in order to not leak sensitive information via public records requests, according to records obtained using a public records request.
It's nice that Chris Murphy will say this on a podcast and all, but if he's not actively working to throw out the Vichy Dems like Durbin and Schumer, it will be all for naught. He can have a nice told-you-so moment when the Dems flush the midterms down the toilet, but not much else.
Sen Chris Murphy warns Dems: "If people don’t see us fighting on something as existential as whether we condone the federal government murdering our own citizens, there will be a mass withdrawal from politics altogether." On the pod, Murphy lays it all out so well: newrepublic.com/article/2057...

Palantir employees are pressing company leadership over its work for ICE in internal company Slacks obtained by @wired.com "In my opinion ICE are the bad guys. I am not proud that the company I enjoy so much working for is part of this." Scoop from @makenakelly.bsky.social

MN sport teams? As if I need another reason to hate the Vikings and Twinkies. Bunch of cowardly jagoffs. Did they poll the players? And are the players aligned with this BS? Ownership is okay with their fans being murdered in the streets. That's no way to grow the base.
60+ CEOs release letter on "recent challenges" creating "tragic loss." Call for "immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions." No mention of ICE. Signers include Target, UnitedHealth, Cargill, General Mills, MN sport teams

We still don't know the names of the ICE agents who killed Gonzàlez behind the wheel of his car outside Chicago in September. They were unmasked in this BWC footage from Franklin Park police. If you have any information at all about these men—please text us on Signal at unraveled.66
It's really distressing the extent to which in all of this Silverio Villegas González, the first man to be murdered by ICE in the streets, has been almost completely forgotten Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
Sorry, but my senator is @durbin.senate.gov , a man who has nothing to protect, but would still rather write strong letters than do anything real lest he make his good friends on the other side of the aisle angry.
ICE and CBP death squads are killing innocent people, terrorizing our communities, and violating our constitutional rights — and the House just voted to give them more money. Demand that your senators use their upcoming vote on the DHS funding bill to rein in the regime’s secret police.
Let's also remember Silverio Villegas González. Father of 3. Killed as part of Operation Midway Blitz. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing...
They shot him in the back. 3 times. I remember when that was the dictionary definition of coward.
Videos verified by The New York Times show the man federal agents shot and killed in Minneapolis on Saturday was holding a phone, not a gun, before the agents took him to the ground and shot him. At least 10 shots appear to have been fired within five seconds. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Please note that NYT is leading with what the videos show, not the lies from the feds. This is what every news organization should be doing. This is how you cover a government that lies as it breathes. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/us/minneapolis-shooting-ice

Pretty illuminating that while HHS is trying to do this unethical experiment on Africans, they're also treating its health institutions with utter disrespect.
U.S. health officials insisted it was still on. African health leaders said it was cancelled. A hotly debated study on hepatitis B in Guinea-Bissau is indeed halted, as I reported last week. Here's my latest: www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

I still haven't figured out why people who write for a living call what is clearly kidnapping, a detention. Call it what it is.
Earlier today masked men exited an unmarked car with tinted windows and pulled a smash-and-grab on a Portland-based civil engineer -- a UMaine grad in the country on a work visa. (No criminal record.) Federal agents? Foreign terrorists? How would anyone be able to tell the difference? #MEpolitics

Proud to be a member of this union. Proud to have built up this union.
As tomorrow's Minnesota-wide shutdown gathers momentum, here are some of the less visible ways workers and unions are helping each other survive to fight another day, by delivering food to workers hiding in their homes with the lights off. My report from Minneapolis.

A hideous, unbelievable insult to our allies, who suffered a full third of the war dead in Afghanistan. And this from a soulless swine who knows everything about using his bone spurs to stay all the way back, entirely off the front lines. Every day, he shames the United States as a nation.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

I used to care about this kind of thing, but I've come around to the idea that they've made themselves irrelevant. Their complicity will be dealt with.
it's bizarre to see both CNN and CNBC run with chyrons reporting that Trump said he won't "use force" to take Greenland, when the comments in question were clearly a threat to take Greenland by force. How naive are we at this point?
