You ever proofread something you wrote and halfway through there’s a paragraph that just derails into complete word salad territory and you stare at it for 5mim and start questioning your life choices

Had an experience multiple times now where I think I’ve found an error in a proof I wrote, carefully reread it, and find to my surprise that nope I actually got it right the first time and just forgor

exponentiation was invented to transform the easy problem of addition into the difficult problem of multiplication. before exponentiation, mathematicians had no idea how to make it hard to add numbers. #AmazingApplicationsOfMathematics

from a technical perspective it’s kinda fascinating that whatever fine-tuning all the corps are doing seems to have converged to a single AI Voice with extremely identifiable patterns on the other hand that voice is really meh imo so idk

Being someone who is into Extremely Weird Speculative Fiction is kinda making it hard for me to enjoy horror movies because they’ll build up to this huge reveal that IT WAS A BRAIN PARASITE and I’ll be like yeah uh ok sounds cool i guess

This hellspawn took 30 mins to even hit the 5% encounter chance, KOed half my team with crit quick attacks, ate five great balls, five poke balls, and four timer balls, and then finally let itself get caught on my literal last ball. Welcome to the team you little freak.

Historically the US science machine has been remarkably well-funded (we’re a big very wealthy country!) and so we’ve had plenty of spare capacity to take on skilled researchers from the rest of the world. If anything American scientists are overrepresented relative to share of global population.

2/ The US is incapable of educating its citizens, hence the ~50% immigrants doing R&D. As RoW catches up post colonialism, WWII and neo colonialism, there will still be movement but it will no longer be unidirectional. China is relatively well placed currently to gain a lot of soft power.
