I'm missing something. Anyone using git-crypt with git worktrees? I keep getting smudging errors when I try to unlock it. Any tips? #git #gitcrypt

Pretty deep in the iOS ecosystem for mobile/watch. (No Mac). My contract is up and I can buy out my iPhone 15 pro max for $470. Or a can look for a budget alternative that's non iOS. But I don't really want to downgrade. Suggestion? #android #ios Likely just stick with it as I'm tired of financing

Zed editor has gotten really good. Supports helix modal editing (my term editor), the remote ssh editing just works on NixOs (vscode was a pain). I have matched my vscode (plugins, etc), ble to set the vscode shortcuts from a dropdown is icing on the cake. My era of vscode might be ending.

I just broke my clavicle over the weekend. I need a solid recommendation for a voice to text tool on #Linux. I basically need to be able to dictate into any text field in any application. Currently running #nixos but can easily run a flatpak or app image. Mixed results with Handy so far. I'll be tes

In case others come across. ended up using voxtalk. On my laptop without a gpu you wait a second for sure. On my tower with a gpu it’s near instant. Always a few minor edits. (Driven my local ai transcription) I wonder what the old school products used pre ai.

Does anyone know of a way to set notifications for certain #Gmail labels only? And I don't have an android device available to me. I'm only using the web interface. #google #gsuite #googleworkspaces #productivity

#Cloud #storage drives me nuts. Photos on one … have to sub to the 2 TB plan because you’re just over the lower sub. Then you have that situation across multiple providers and now you’re paying for 2 TB on multiple providers for independent services. But only use something like 600gb. 😖

Welp. I’m tired of fighting zoom and screen sharing in general on NixOs. Back to a “boring” Ubuntu variant with ansible. For me nix was about packages and declarative cfg. I still have it. But my stuff is working. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t have time to babysit a nix config. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.

Essentially looking for a good flow to use rss for reading offline. Hoping to avoid multiple apps (ie rss and “read later”), but if I this fairly seamless, I’m open to it. Using both iOS and Android.

Anyone have #zoom screen sharing “actually” working on a #wayland window manager (not KDE/Gnome/Cosmic)? Bonus if on #hyprland , and super bonus on #nixos. Uber extra points, if you know what you did to get it working. Can share the first time. Must exit & rejoin meeting if I want to start again.

I would love some recommendations for blogs. The last few years I been going all in on rss. Looking for more for personal tech blogs. Companies/product blogs are kind of a no-brainer. The harder to discover ones. #kubernetes #linux #devops #sre #api Socials aren’t doing it for me these days.

#vivaldi making a statement that they were not going to jam AI into the browser may have finically converted me to look past the minor things that turned me away from it.

Has anyone come across an advanced #waybar configuration and styling? #linux I’m looking for something that has all the bells and whistles. Something that gets as close as possible to a full desktop experience (for the bar, and helpers).

Considering upgrading my #camera game for a new job. Have $800 to spend (not necessarily looking to spend it all). Will be using with #Linux (#NixOS). Or can still be a #webcam, but wanting to go higher end. Would like the depth of field look. Also have direct light behind me (windows). Suggestions?

I have to say I’ve always liked the Firefox browser, but it just never jived with me. But now I have to say the Zen browser (based on Firefox) seems to be scratching my edge. This might be the first one that can actually pull me away from a chrome based browser.

Nicely done - always liked working with the @sysdig.com team when I did, glad to see the culture is as good as always.
