Zed editor has gotten really good. Supports helix modal editing (my term editor), the remote ssh editing just works on NixOs (vscode was a pain). I have matched my vscode (plugins, etc), ble to set the vscode shortcuts from a dropdown is icing on the cake. My era of vscode might be ending.

How’s the performance? I’m still on Sublime text because it’s just so blazing FAST.

I have tried sublime a few times and even with the speed increase I could never leave vscode. There is also the factor in if the experience jives with your brain. Zed does for me.

I find it much faster than vscode. But that’s not necessarily saying much. Feels snappy. The features are killer, etc. I’m running it on Linux (if relevant to you).

Haha, yeah—VS Code isn’t exactly a speed demon. 😆 I’d be running on Linux as well (GNOME on Arch BTW).

Let me put it this way. I installed it, and almost immediately I knew I was likely moving to it.
