they're telling us at work that the future of software is no longer clicking on things, but "asking what you want in natural language." what this fails to account for is that clicking on things is already faster than that and requires a lot less development time

in retrospect it's kind of funny that sci fi was like "imagine a world where robots gain sentience, but humanity refuses to grant them personhood" but in reality every loser techbro loser thinks chatgpt deserves more rights than like, actual people

If you have power in your institution and your institution imposes rules limiting what you can do or say, please consider breaking those rules and doing so publicly.

Don't trust "AI" and also realize that the push to have "AI" in everything happened because some tech people wanted to get rich and other tech people didn't want others to get rich without them, and now they've all spent too much money on a bad product and are trying to scramble out of the hole.
