It's 2026 and Android Studio stills loads projects with the "Android" view that hides your actual project structure and doesn't display the location of the files you open. Still treating Android devs like babies who shouldn't see a file that the Android team didn't think was important

Ever since I updated to AGP 9 IntelliJ is unable to find the sources for just about any library I import. Additionally, sometimes the IDE shows the imported symbols in red, indicating it can’t resolve them, but everything compiles just fine. Is this happening for anyone else?? It’s quite annoying…

I have a 2006 MacBook to thank for getting me into development with Xcode, which ultimately resulted in my career as a programmer. That poor MacBook had no business running Xcode year after year, but it’s what I had, and it was all I needed to get started. Hopefully the Neo is that to someone else.

The MacBook Neo is such an interesting machine that it coaxed a thousand-word-essay out of me: samhenri.gold/blog/2026031...

@zsmb.co Do you have an idea as to when IntelliJ will be updated with AGP 8.13 support? I wanted to update since it supposedly will fix some issues I’m having with the new Android Multiplatform Library plugin. I’d prefer to not have to use Android Studio since I have IntelliJ Ultimate.

Alright, decided to abort having my own PDS. My network setup makes it way more complicated, and I couldn’t get my test account to pass handle validation. All things considered, it’s a simple process, it’s just how I have my network setup (for security reasons) that makes it too difficult for me.

Probably going to try to migrate my account to my own PDS. Hopefully everything goes well and it doesn’t end up getting lost in cyberspace.

The demo version of Mario Kart: Double Dash contains an unused Game Over screen. Notably, the smoke graphics used here are humorously called "smork" internally. It is unknown if this is a legitimate misspelling of "smoke" or if the word was deliberately spelled in a funny way.

Experimental post: Obscure/Ominous Messages Iceberg I have compiled a collection of various text messages found in Mario games that appear bizarre or unsettling, using the iceberg chart format. Explanations for each entry are linked in the ALT text.

@manetapp.bsky.social Would it be possible to have a log viewer added to the application? I’m getting the following error and would like to see some details as to what exactly is going wrong. It could very well be an issue of my creation since I have a web firewall in front of my Jellyfin server.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, arbitrary many Super Appeal badges can be obtained. "Appealmaxing" by stacking 32 of them makes Mario so incredibly appealing that any audience, no matter how small (a mere 2 Goombas in the post) will cheer him on hard enough to fully restore his Star Power.

Shout out to the dude who opened with “do you have a male worker that can assist me” at the store. Truly only a man could have figured out the difficult issue of “Xbox has a bad power cord”

The existence of SummerCart64 and it being very cheap has tremendously helped 64DD preservation now that I don't have to tell people to get a super expensive flashcart anymore to do the job

This is a really big deal. The Homebrew Channel developers have taken software licensing very seriously (and its developers continue to do so in other projects), so for that trust to be broken and for libogc to not be willing to make efforts to reconcile the offense is… not good to say the least.
