If you'd like to have a taste of what my new fantasy adventure Sanguine Scenario is like, you can read the sample chapters on my website. Or... you can sign up to my newsletter and receive a 3 short stories featuring main characters of the book.

Since today is International Artist Day, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pieces of 3D art that I made over the years that aren't my covers (should I share the covers too?). I admit, it was tricky to pick just a few. Which one is your favorite? No AI.

Experimenting is what I love about art. I buy a 3D model without any particular use in mind (simply because it's awesome), and then I start playing around. This was the case with this lich, and although the image might be a bit dark, I'm really happy how it turned out. No AI.

Special editions of Sanguine Scenario are arriving at backers homes! Thank you, Robert, for sending these pictures and for giving a permission to share them. It's always a joy for an author to see her book "out in the wild," and ever greater to learn it's being read already!

If you were waiting for a release date, Sanguine Scenario is coming to all major online stores (and some smaller ones too) on January 15, 2027 but readers ordering direct from me get it a week earlier! And there are some copies of special edition to snag too.

I was pondering whether to share this image as I was not entirely happy with it. But it's Halloween season, and what's scarier than giant spiders coming through portals? (Okay, few things might be.) And it also shows that not every art piece meets that "perfect!" feeling. No AI.

Last night, my dreams consisted of a tornado that was a large carrot girl, and cartoon zombies that were trying to find the right music to listen to in order to not die, and they were taking turns as a community. And I have no idea what to make of it.

In case you're wondering how my writing is going, in the nearly done first draft of my new book, I still have [namehere] for an important organization, and [insertname] for a vital location. I guess I should be happy that at least all characters have their names by now...

It's been a day (and it's not over yet), so when a large spider decided to walk on the wall right behind my PC, it didn't even elicit any strong reaction. Just a loud, "SERIOUSLY?!" and then I went to get the spray. It had no chance. Not in the mood, spider, not in the mood.

guys please stop falling for this, this is not “rogue AI” it’s “environments with lax cybersecurity controls”

The latest update in the rogue A.I. saga: OpenAI agents that were supposed to be performing mundane data requests for things like health data, historic photos and wait times at theme parks resorted to hacking attempts when they couldn't access the data they wanted www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/t...

One of the things I’m infinitely grateful for is that in the morning, when the world starts rushing, I get to stand in the patio for ~15 minutes, watching the sky and clouds change as the sun rises. And sometimes, it’s a true spectacle of shapes and colors.

If you're in the northern hemisphere, autumn is finally here (and right on cue, temperatures around here dropped from 90-100s F to 70s), and that means… Does it mean more reading? Do you read more in autumn? Do you have specific rituals? Apple cider? Pumpkin latte? Cozy reading nook?

My yesterday's self spelled "biscuit" wrong and didn't have a speck of doubt about it being right. My today's self looked at it for 30 mins, seeing nothing wrong with it. Only then she got a hunch to check the dictionary and discovered the truth. A peak author form, I tell you.

I married the right man. He comes home, tired, and after a lot of overtime and traveling. He glances at me while we say hello. Just glances and immediately asks, "Are you okay?". Before I can even respond, he says, "You are not okay." and immediately gives me full attention.

He's tired. He didn't even sit down. But he still pays attention. And once he sees what I wasn't trying to show, everything becomes less important than the fact that I've likely been crying too much and something's wrong. To me, love isn't flowers on appropriate days. Love is that.

I’ve always loved the phrase, “living well is the best revenge.” Despite how it sounds, it isn't about spite; it’s about breaking free from a toxic cycle. It means taking all the energy you would have spent fighting back, and using it to build a life of peace and joy instead.

I saw an author say, "We've made it do the '…ber' months!" and that somehow made my brain jump to, "What if the months were named after my series? So here I am, presenting you 4 new month names. They kind of fit, don't they? 😆 (Yes, I cheated using the standalone title too!)

Authors, to get some positives on our feeds, share an excerpt from a review of your book that you're proud of! For Memories of Sorcery and Sand: "I tore through it (...) – because there was no way I could predict where the story would go next. Which is something Joanna is very good at doing."

Authors, to get some positives on our feeds, share an excerpt from a review of your book that you're proud of! I'll start us off, with👇for my SFF Countering the Hands of Crime: "Carlson does a great job of keeping the suspense hot by switching from high-action events to scenes of personal growth."

My husband's and my music tastes partially overlap, but aren't a perfect match. So at some point, he went through all his music, song by song, letting me decide "yay" or "nay." All the "yays" went into a playlist, and now whenever he wants to listen to his music, he just plays "my" playlist.

At the same time, he doesn't care when I listen to my music and rarely complains about what's playing (it really has to be something annoying to him), and I'm kind enough to put my headphones on when I'm in a "listen to one song in a loop for a week" phase.
