Delivery address for #ZXSpectrumNext locked today, so maybe, just maybe, will get my grubby little mitts on it in a week or two?

Meh, can't stay up any longer to wait for PHP patch compatible with my version of CloudPanel. Guess the websites will just stay offline until the morning... #phpwned #phpocalypse

I'm no ornithologist, but I've seen swifts and it's pretty obvious what they're doing to eat 🤷

Be glad you don't live in Croatia, where we have to pay roughly 130€/yr if you have ANY device capable of receiving HRT programming (TV, radio, car, mobile phone, computer). I think this is common in many EU countries (pay the license fee regardless; no "but I don't watch it" exemption clause).

lol, instantly blocked by a someone who couldn't come up with a decent retort... 😂 They were complaining about the license fee to be extended to cover streaming services plans.

First single you bought with your own money. No lying! Mine: "Red Box - Lean on Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)", 1985. Still know every word.

No matter where you shop, you're getting screwed by Amazon. Amazon has found a way to make everything you buy - at Target, at a mom-and-pop shop, even direct from the manufacturer - more expensive. And they're not the only one: Expedia's done the same thing, but for hotel rooms.

It’s a shame Bandersnatch is now lost to time. Clearly Colin Ritman was a nod from Brooker.

33% discount on everything from the website, which now includes the presets from Stereoxide & Mutaliens. Use the code SPOOKY2026 before 5th of November #vst #plugins #sale #musicproducer

Successfully set up Vaultwarden in a Docker container on VPS. I didn't need the storage they tried to justify the price increase from $10/yr to $25/yr with.

100% this. Downhill ever since. XP without the Noddy interface wasn't so bad either.

Which Windows operating system was the best? The chart speaks for itself.

LOL, immediately crashed when opening a .psd I had lying around 🤷‍♂️ Slop coders gonna slop...

Holy shit. Someone has decompiled the Adobe suite, rebuilt it in Rust and released it as open source. Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update. getartcraft.com/apps

Rarely seen in the wild shipping boxes containing five ZX Spectrum Nexts each. These are the boxes we put on pallets for transportation. Dog for scale.

Watched this last night, very interesting. I'm sure the bit right at the end where he congratulates the 2 people who watched all the way is somewhat exaggerated; surely must have data from previous videos that people*do* watch through? Although I guess with today's attention spans maybe not too many

Holy pile of poop Batman, the new Superman movie is so incredibly bad. 💩💩💩💩💩/💩💩💩💩💩 on the Shit-o-meter. Do not waste 2 hours of your life like I just did.

Please do not scream into The Abyss. It is not a supported use case. If you must scream, please use The Void¹. The Abyss is for staring into only². 1 - Similarly, please do not stare into The Void. 2 - Warning: The Abyss may stare back.

This is really shitty behaviour. On the left, Duck 2 by Devious Machines released some 6 months ago after months of hard work and design (I helped beta-test it and know the people behind it). On the right, SideKick by Sonic Academy released this week. #vst #plugin #ripoff #slop #poundshopduck

I've reached that point in life where the most exciting thing to happen recently is I bought a new vacuum cleaner. 🤣😭 But damn; Germans know how to engineer a quality product!

Eugh, this annoys me no end. Suddenly everyone thinks they're an expert on how my software works and/or a developer, send me 500 words of bullshit I have to waste my time reading to realise it was all hallucinated horse shit 🤡

Amabel Holland@amabel.bsky.social

Well, I just had someone email us to request missing components... that don't exist for the game. He used a chatbot to "research" what might be missing from a used copy of the game and it hallucinated new components.

Yes, you can make so much software, but what quality does it have? A non-developer has absolutely zero clue if what the clanker output is good enough despite it "working" (spoiler alert: it's often not) Adding "skill" in the list of restraints removed by digital photography is odd to say the least.

dame@dame.is

the leap from traditional software development to agentic software development is like when digital photography overtook film you can now make SO much software so easily (even non-developers) like how anyone can take infinite photos without having to consider restraints of film (cost, time, skill)

Of course they want you to flag if it's wrong. Why pay humans to do the RL when you can get your suckers, sorry - users, to do it for free.

Josh Marshall@joshtpm.bsky.social

Just noticed that "google magic" is now highlighting emails it has decided are "important", and asked me to flag if the AI got it wrong. Theyre mostly automated emails from publications I subscribe to and also borderline spam. Extinction won't be today.

If it had been 5-600€ I wouldn't have hesitated <take-my-money.jpg> At 1049€ for the base model, yeah nah...

Starting to get a bit excited about getting my #ZXSpectrum #Next from @specnext.com Still at minimum 6 weeks probably, 'til I get my grubby little mitts on it, but feeling a bit like 12yr old me in November 1987 when I knew I was getting a mouse for my 48k rubber key special for Christmas!

We are organizing a demoscene art gallery exhibit in Almada during October. Alongside the exhibit there are openings for talks / workshops / demoshows / live sessions. We are looking for demosceners to come to Almada in October and present their art and craft to a small audience.
