I think, as a cis person, pitching up to lecture trans people about how/whether they should discuss the harmful narratives within their own community – especially when you start using language like "the they thems" – is really quite transphobic tbh.

Reading this and crying thinking about how much I wish I spent more time with Robyn after we left uni. She was one of my best mates, she is *the* reason I realised I was trans and came out in the first place, and she was an absolute fucking rockstar.

Sharing this piece again which I wrote last year. Medical transphobia of the kind NHS England are now touting contributed to my friend Robyn's death. We can sit with the horror of that without losing hope. There is so much of value in our lives, and we have so much to offer each other.

So many people buried their heads in the sand this week saying that NHS segregation of trans people was "for their safety". But even internal NHS assessments say it will cause direct harm. Sex is not binary and trans people need respectful care based on actual physiology, not anti-trans slogans.

Been seeing more trans folks use TERF talking points like saying “trans women need to unlearn male socialization” or “while it’s not a slur, we should be understanding why some women would be offended by the word cis because young tumblr transes use it as an insult and ruined it.” Kinda fucked.

The anti-trans ads are so blatant with the white lady saying “my five kids are the most important thing in the world” instead of “my five kids are the most important thing in the world TO ME” (which would still be bad the way bigots mean it). Anyway, wishing all bigots the life they deserve!

This is unimaginably tragic and horrifying at the same time.
