El invento del más allá: De la «vida eterna» de Jesús al cielo como sala de espera ¿Hemos convertido nuestra propia existencia en la sala de espera de un médico, posponiendo la vida presente a cambio de una recompensa prometida en el cielo?

1/7 🇧🇪 Belgium → 🇭🇷 Croatia → 🇪🇸 Barcelona. Three conferences, three talks, and one month. A hat-trick of sorts! And what better place to finish than Barcelona, the city I've called home for the last decade, at the XIII @bcnswcraft.bsky.social conference?

6/7 The funniest moment? Just as I introduced the constraints chapter with Tom Hanks saying "Houston, we have a problem", Catalonia's emergency alert went off. Every phone started ringing. The audience burst into laughter. 😂 Perfectly timed chaos!

7/7 Three conferences, countless conversations, and plenty of learning. Ending this journey at home, surrounded by a community I've been contributing to for years, made it special. The tools evolve. Craftsmanship endures. And communities grow through our collective effort. Thank you! ❤️

4/7 AI changes our tools, while our engineering principles continue to guide us. Harness engineering is one of the latest additions to our toolbox, helping us build reliable software with AI-assisted development.

5/7 A great conversation with Nicolas Grenié reminded me that building inclusive communities takes everyday effort. As we say in Catalan, fem pinya: we come together and support one another. That's the community spirit worth cultivating.

2/7 I've been volunteering at Software Crafters Barcelona since 2022, facilitating workshops and helping the community. Four years later, I finally got to contribute as a speaker. A particularly meaningful milestone for me.

3/7 My talk explored software craftsmanship in the AI era. As Sylvie Vergé observed, craftsmanship has always been about steadily delivering value, being part of a professional community, and producing well-crafted software.

In my free time, I enjoy reading philosophy, lately Zizek, Lacan and Derrida. while reading Zizek's enjoy your symptom! I was reminded of The Unicorn Project, which I read some time ago, and I'm now connecting the dots with Sooner, Safer, Happier and Flow Engineering too.

One explores the strange pleasure we take in human suffering, and the others show how engineering cultures can turn complexity into a ritual. the connection hit me unexpectedly: what if we don't just tolerate complexity... what if we enjoy it? can you see the link between these books?

.@aleixmorgadas.dev shared an insightful session on using "Team Cognitive Load" to measure Platform impact at #devbcn25. Learn how to optimize your dev team's productivity by watching the video:

youtu.beAleix Morgadas - Team Cognitive Load as a metric to measure Platform impactSpeaker Aleix Morgadas Abstract Measuring Platform impact is challenging, non-obvious, and involves custom solutions when we go beyond DORA metrics, and yet critical to prove the value it delivers to the whole organization. Inspired in Team Topologies approach, we see how Team Cognitive Load can be used as proxy metric to measure platform impact at technical and human level. In this session, we will see a real world example of how team cognitive load drove the creation of a platform team, and how its impact was measured and scaled within the organization. https://www.devbcn.com
