After a closer look at the IG report, here are the clues I found indicating an "Alligator Alcatraz" cover-up. FWIW, I don't think the DHS OIG was in the conspiracy, I think they were in way over their heads. prospect.org/2026/09/17/a...

Glad folks are appalled by photos of the "phone booth" cage under an awning, but pls understand: This IG report is likely part of a cover-up. Amnesty Int'l interviewed detainees EIGHT MONTHS AGO who said the cage was half this size (couldn't stand up), had no awning, w feet chained to the bottom.

Ahmed Soliman has been missing for a week.

Gillian Brockell@gillianbrockell.com

Ahmed Soliman has been missing for six days. ICE says it is “not responsible” for this, even though they forcibly expelled him to an authoritarian country he’d never even been to. Please take the time today to follow this link to contact your lawmakers, especially Arizonans! findahmedsoliman.org

This free documentary is a MUST SEE. Shuffling people around the US, away from their attorneys and family, away from their Habeas Corpus filings, on a merry-go-round of extremely expensive tax-payer funded charter flights, is a key part of the ICE death machine and hardly anyone is talking about it.

This is an absolute scandal; the United States government is deliberately consolidating all deportation cases of an ethnic minority that the President has called "garbage" in front of a handpicked group of judges and with dramatically accelerated timeline. A lawsuit was filed yesterday against it.

Matthew Hoppock@hoppock.bsky.social

Turns out that when every Somali case I have in court suddenly got expedited and reassigned to a new judge, it wasn't just me! The DOJ has officially denied that there is an expedited "Somali Docket," but now the public data refutes their denial. Here are the highlights: 🧵 bklg.org/blog/somali-...

A 79 yr old Canadian woman is now detained in Arizona. She overstayed her visa while trying to sell her home. Her Facebook posts show her asking for moving boxes, indicating her clear intent to leave the country. ICE came to her house with cuffs administrative warrant and took her to detention.

This is rather blatant. (And yes, I went to the @the-independent.com website and checked that the MN50501 referral link is indeed there.) I have real difficulty coming up with a scenario in which this kind of oops-not-my-referral is not the result of unethical action by @arianabaio.bsky.social

Gillian Brockell@gillianbrockell.com

This @the-independent.com story is such an obvious lift of mine that they didn’t even bother deleting my site’s referral URL. And no, they do not credit me for reporting it first or (intentionally) link to my story. In j-school, rewording someone else’s reporting was called plagiarism. 1/

1. DHS surges 3,000 officers to Minneapolis without doing anywhere near enough prep first. 2. Hundreds of habeas cases overwhelm local courts. 3. Dozens of DOJ lawyers quit in disgust/anger. 4. The DOJ brings in JAGs to cover. 5. A JAG was just held in contempt and fined $500/day for ICE's failures.

This is awful, and it happens on every single ICE flight, more than 40 a day. There have been multiple emergency evacuations of ICE flights. One took SEVEN MINUTES, they are supposed to take 90 seconds. An Avelo ICE plane did an emergency landing after depressurization in Nov.; 5 people injured.

Released detainees at our shelter say they were flown on ICE Air while shackled at the hands, waist, and ankles. They listened to the flight attendants safety briefing in disbelief-how could they evacuate, open exits, or put on oxygen masks while restrained? One said, ‘Anything happens, we’re dead.’

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad. The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

Just within the past hour, nearly a dozen YouTube accounts have posted the pulled 60 Minutes CECOT story. CBS and Google can keep trying to take them all down, but it's sort of pointless now.

Anna reposted

Just watched the whole 60 Minutes CECOT episode. It's a pretty standard segment for 60 Minutes, taking something that's been reported on in other publications and formats and telling it to a wider audience with first person, on camera accounts. It's not earth shattering, but it is newsworthy.

It was physically impossible for that boat to reach anywhere close to the United States, even before it was a flaming upside-down wreck, and Tom Cotton knows that. He's not that stupid, he just thinks everyone else is. This kind of dishonesty is inseparable from egotistical arrogance.

Q: What did you see in the second strike? Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

3 Why don't the children go with their mothers you ask? These deported women are married to American citizens and these children are American citizens. Their fathers need to continue working.

4 Getting a spousal visa can take years and cost thousands of dollars. These children will now have to grow up without their mothers. Those of you with young children or young grandchildren, think about how you would feel if this happened to your family.
