Cloudflare is down again, bringing down half of the internet. It's scary how many services depend on one single point of failure.

You never forget your first few customers. And the ones that stay with you for many years? They can’t know what their $49/mo meant to you. Everyone who bet on you early, in any form, holds a special place in your heart.

Not super happy with the new Laravel 12 presets. The 2FA and devices list feature of Jetstream was super useful, and it's missing from the new starter packs.

Car enthusiasts, am I the only one that dreams about SAAB making cars again? Imagine an electric SAAB, it would be the perfect vehicle.

I've put a 10-minutes per day limit on Instagram, I was wasting too much time looking at reels all day long. It's an addiction, you realize it's bad for you but you keep scrolling.

Bluesky, on the other hand, feels like you're always learning something, and creating relations with people. It's the difference between "wasting" and "spending" time.

BTW it never ceases to amaze me what marvelous abandonware Google Books as a whole is. Just click on the "advanced search" button and you get this time capsule to 2008. Look at that logo! Look at those basic HTML forms, with no hint of angular.js or materialUI! books.google.com/advanced_boo...

You could also add an Italian translation, but that poses an interesting localization issue. 🧵

How to prevent your TV from showing blockbuster movies as if they were South American soap operas ⤵️

For those going home to visit family this weekend: • Samsung calls it Auto Motion Plus • LG calls it TruMotion • Sony calls it Motionflow • Roku calls it Action Smoothing • Google TV calls it Motion Enhancement • Vizio calls it Smooth Motion Effect.

If you send both marketing and transactional (e.g. purchase confirmation) emails, you should use two different sender domains, so you don't make your most important emails fall into the spam folder or the Promotions tab in Gmail.

Another #buildinpublic starter pack for you to enjoy 😎

New here and in #buildinpublic? I made a 🚀 starter pack with plenty of room! Let me know if you want to join! 😀 And don't forget to share it :)) go.bsky.app/3F5Szx6

Hot take. Mastodon may be better than Bluesky from an "openness" point of view, but it feels like a local Linux user group: too nerdy for the average person.

#Laravel developers, call me old-fashioned, but I still use Homestead in 2024. It's simple, it works and it gives me an environment that matches production. It's been abandoned as an official project by Laravel, but his original developer is maintaining a fork.
