In the future when we talk about past events and how they shaped where we are in 20, 30 years from now, this time period will be one of those that we talk about. What we do now matters. It might seem like a comedian being canceled to many, but the action taken now will absolutely shape the future.

Thank you, Representative Robert Garcia! As the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, he announced plans to open an investigation into both the Trump administration and ABC following the network’s decision (under FCC pressure) to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show indefinitely.

ABC selling out and pulling Kimmel to find favor with this administration’s FCC in order to further its own business interests, aka make more money, is just further highlighting one of the massive issues in the US. It’s blurring the lines between private business, our government, and our rights.

I really want to like @skylight.social to replace TikTok, but the UI is awful. It zooms in on videos after upload, making them look awful. Having to go to a different app to delete videos is silly. No ability to upload photos or add text, requiring using multiple apps to create content.

If she is released, pardoned, anything other than serving her sentence in full and people aren’t out in the streets over it, then this country isn’t worth saving anymore. Honestly, I’m not sure it is now. www.npr.org/2025/08/01/g...

This will make some of you mad but I’m ok with that. Women need to stop voting for men thinking that they’ll give a shit about our issues. They don’t. I don’t care how progressive they are. There has never been a time where we’ve been represented equally in government. This is why we are here.

My retirement portfolio is down 22% since trump took office with no end in sight for the free fall. As an elder millennial, this is a big blow. I lost a lot in the 08 crash. I was just getting to a really good place. Every time Republicans are in control, my financial stability disappears.

This is your reminder that we must fight against the privatization of government services. Privatization does NOT save money. It is NOT more efficient. It only makes the rich richer and more powerful. Imagine an unhinged sycophant cutting off services to citizens simply bc they don’t like them.

The only thing that gives me hope for the future is that younger generations are moving further left, and therefore have higher standards and expectations for our elected officials. We refuse to accept mediocrity, cowardice, and caving to fascists. DNC, evolve or you’ll die out.

Primary every single one of these spineless shits.

Some "Russian Warship" vibes here from a tiny fed'l agency. via Brett Murphy: The African Development Foundation (budget ~$40 million) is putting up a fight and denying DOGE + Pete Marocco — the State Dept official dismantling USAID — access to their building:

Everyone should be outraged by this. This includes operational considerations based on gender. Meaning they will have no plans to reduce harm to civilians, specifically women/children. The danger that this will put innocent people in should be SHOCKING.

If our former allies see the writing on the wall, I expect withdrawals from the Treaty on Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. And I couldn’t blame them one bit. The circus in the White House has weakened us to the lowest point we’ve ever been on the world stage.

Reminder that magats deserve to be bullied off the face of the earth. “They were fooled.” No they weren’t. This is exactly what they voted for, they thought their vote would shield them from the fallout. My kindness and compassion is reserved only for those that did/do the right thing.

I really need some of yall to do more homework. Trump did not “create a new department” for DOGE. Read the damn executive order. There is a reason he placed DOGE under the EOP. If you do some light reading, you’ll figure out why. Some posts I’m seeing are ill informed. Please do better.

Musk Minions have tucked into their sofa beds a little early after a long, hard day of stealing people’s data. We’re heading home and I’ll try to post more video once my hands warm up. Thank you again. Just overwhelmed by people’s support.

The propaganda machines are running overtime on twitter, completely unchecked and encouraged. The “freedom of speech” so many behold as a pillar of our country will be the exact thing thing that causes its downfall under an administration built on lies, deceit, and corruption.

I’ve also seen lots of questions regarding DOGE and its legitimacy. Read the EO. A new department was not created, an existing department under the EOP was restructured, thus sidestepping the need for approval. We know that it’s a farce, but they did their homework. I hope dems are taking notes.

So we really have to stop the rhetoric of “it’s illegal”. So far, everything he’s done with DOGE and musk’s minions isn’t illegal. Is it immoral? Yes. I hope we’re all starting to understand just how big the consequences of elections are now.

Musk and his nazi lackeys do not have clearances. They are accessing classified and sensitive information they have not been cleared to access. How are they doing this? Trump wrote them all notes. That isn’t a joke. None of them would ever be legit cleared for even the lowest clearance levels.

I wonder what the citizens of other countries would do if what is happening here, happened there. France? South Korea? Germany? Why are we so weak as a nation? My guess is that we know law enforcement would gleefully mow us down given the chance. We need to change that.
