I can't wait to check what happens with Manchester City in the end, and I can't wait even more for the special that John Oliver will likely do when the time comes.

When a company has been successfully live with a web site that is basically just a bunch of API calls, and months (or years) later they announce they have finally released their iOS/Android native version. *Me pointing at a web frame.*

But for real. You didn't find any article, AI did; And you most likely didn't read them, AI summarized them for you. And by doing so, you missed the nuances of both tasks, which is precisely what, at least for me, made it worthwhile. So many nice articles found by browsing a site or following links.

New comic: One Last Line of Code comicss.art/comics/263/ If Death gave you an opportunity to change your code. What line would you it be? Would it be something meaningful? Something personal? Something helpful to others? Or would you...? #cartoon #humor #ai #webdev

"The drop in exam scores was concentrated among students who rushed their homework. Those who used AI but spent as long on assignments as non-users paid little penalty. What matters, then, is how pupils use the technology. Those whose exam results remained strong were not simply copying and pasting"

Going back to a site you used to work on professionally and seeing how it's been butchered since you left is incredibly sad. Why are the sizes you updated for usability gone? What happened to the accessibility features? Where did all those little things that made the whole thing actually work go? 😖

I had fun coding next week's comic. Here's the first panel. Will this be the end of the road for one of the recurring characters?

People: Yay! This CSS feature is baseline and supported by all browsers! Go use it now! Me: At work, we have to support current version + 2 previous. So I want be able to fully use that feature until 2 years from now.

"Remember, who you vote for is private, but whether or not you vote is public record. We look forward to seeing that you voted in this election by Tuesday, November 3." I understand this is from a non-profit trying to get people to vote, but it almost sounds like a warning or a threat.

If you had a ticket to Grace Hopper and have not cancelled your plans to go to San Francisco, go to @github.com's LinkedIn right now if you'd like to attend GitHub Universe for free ❤️

Not having an <h1> on a web page is like not declaring a primary key in a database table. It may still work, but it's a sign of deeper structural issues.

Weird random fun fact about Spain: The Simpsons aired for years before the 3pm news (prime time in Spain as people ate at home at 2-3pm). 2 episodes a day = 730 a year. So we went through the whole show several times every year. 40-50yo Spaniards will get even really obscure Simpsons references.
