Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface

New blog post! In "Zigzag decoding with AVX-512", we look at two different ways to possibly (caveat emptor) speed up various forms of zigzag decoding with AVX-512 functionality that isn't just "wider registers"! zeux.io/2026/06/17/z...

zeux.ioZigzag decoding with AVX-512I’ve been working on speeding up AVX-512 vertex decoding in meshoptimizer recently; in the process I stumbled upon two optimizations that I did not end up using but I thought they might be fun to writ...

I love to help people learn #RustLang and get better at Rust programming! I have well over a decade of experience with Rust (including extensive work on Rust from before 1.0, core team membership, and other leadership work), and have helped numerous people learn it and teams successfully adopt it.

After work, I put all my spare time in making a game. If you want to keep up with progress, give early feedback, break it, there's a playtest: store.steampowered.com/app/4000460/... It's nowhere near done. I'll keep improving it. It's more fun to do this together. #indiegames #gamedev

I've been doing this for a while and now I know I'll keep working on it no matter what. It's in a super early stage and that's why I'm not asking for any money. When it's closer to being done I'll move it to an early access. Meanwhile I will push builds as often as I can (weekly at least)

New article! A user is reporting full system freezes while using Superluminal on Linux. What do you do? Cry? Well, we did a little bit. But we also dove into the kernel...again, this time fixing several issues in eBPF's spinlock implementation. Read all about it: rovarma.com/articles/a-t...

rovarma.comA tale about fixing eBPF spinlock issues in the Linux kernel | Ritesh Oedayrajsingh VarmaA system freeze led us deep into Linux spinlock internals, where we helped find not one but three bugs in the kernel's resilient locking code used by eBPF.

I expect we will get some ways to opt out from having your work in AI/LLM training data. I just don't understand how we got where where by virtue of putting something out there somehow it's automatically allowing 3-4 companies to profit from someone's work under with no way to opt-out.

These companies would have nothing without training on the work of ppl who anyway barely made it (e.g. especially in art, literature, etc.) and now boast with deranged statements saying that tons of jobs will be extinct in 12-18 months.

It happened before where permissive licenses allowed several companies to build SaaS products and licenses appeared forbidding a specific use of the software. So I wouldn't be surprised if some frameworks or even laws (since this isn't only about code) pop up in a similar directions.

My AI doesn't even make dumb statements like this: "So white-collar work, where you're sitting down at a computer, either being a lawyer or an accountant or a project manager or a marketing person β€” most of those tasks will be fully automated by an AI within the next 12 to 18 months.
