Great piece from @ryanbiller.bsky.social exploring the many forces behind America’s housing crisis & the solutions being pursued here & abroad. At the center is a matter of political will: can the US move beyond treating housing primarily as a commodity & toward treating it as a human right?

The continuing violation theory of when injury occurs (across all manner of causes of action) is grounded in unambiguous Supreme Court precedent. HUD has no authority to disregard it when deciding which administrative complaints to exercise jurisdiction over.

“All this does is provide a pass to the bad actors who decided not to follow the law and locked people with disabilities out of housing in the process.” @nikitrabailey.bsky.social, @natfairhouse.bsky.social

We need a government that takes our rights seriously & actually fights to defend them.
