The protected bike lanes along Bloor Street West between Islington and Royal York are gone, but we want to ensure folks in Etobicoke-Lakeshore can safely bike to the polls on Monday. Cycle Toronto will be leading a complimentary bike bus on Election Day through this new gap in our cycling network.

Verdi Alliance and ATS Traffic are actively dismantling the Bloor Street West protected bike lanes in Etobicoke contrary to the will of Toronto City Council. Neither of these companies is based in Toronto. Tell them to keep their workers home: cycleto.ca/stay_home

Bike lanes aren't just for bikes; they’re mobility lanes. Safe, connected infrastructure means access & independence for people of all abilities. Join @cycletoronto.bsky.social for the ACCESS FOR ALL ride on Saturday, October 31. Meet 10 AM at Christie Pits and rollout at 10:30 AM. #BikeTO #TOpoli

"Sarkaria also said secondary streets, such as King Street and College Street, would be better alternatives for the bike lanes". King Street? Secondary?? With all respect, we're seriously questioning whether the minister has seen any of these Toronto roads with his own eyes.

Notice of construction along Bloor Street West between Clissold and Royal York. Taken from Reddit user T-DogSwizle. The start of a colossal waste of $48M that will not address traffic congestion and will put people's lives at risk.

"What is certain, however, is that a vast sum of our money will be wasted, countless Torontonians will find themselves profoundly inconvenienced for extended periods, and, eventually, a cyclist will get struck by a car. But at least the congestion will be worse."

Our taxpayer dollars are being spent at an American company (in the middle of a trade war) that offers better deals to folks walking in off the street than to teachers ordering through the Ontario Ministry of Education portal. Make it make sense!!! #OntEd

I want to move my VPSs over to a #Canadian hosting company, but it seems like so much work. Does anyone have any tips on migrating the data? They're all #nixos machines so at least the configuration will be easy to copy over Also looking for recommendations on the provider!

“The effort to quiet Paris complements the wider campaign to make Paris greener, cleaner & less car-dependent, which include vehicle restrictions in the center, crackdowns on polluting vehicles, & an ambitious expansion of bike networks. Those have cut the city’s average noise level by 2 decibels.”

Hey! I’m Andrew, and I’m a frontend engineer living in #Toronto. I love riding my bike around town in our slowly expanding cycle network. For work, I am forced to use #JavaScript and #Vue, but if I am working on side projects, I’d rather play with #elixir and #FunctionalProgramming in general.

I am a big fan of #FOSS and occasionally contribute (minorly) to #NixOS, which is my go-to #linux distribution. I also play #VideoGames on linux. Been playing as much as I can while having a 6 month old. I think root is still my favourite #BoardGame, but ARCS is a new contender for that title.

You are up to date.
