They designed the packaging so you can't count how much you're using. The hard pack. The 12-pack. The 30-rack. Really smart people. Keeping you guessing. Keeping you hooked spw12.substack.com/p/i-am-an-ad...

The summer when the vertigo started. The month my career ended. I didn’t know what it was yet. It would take more than a year to find out.
Forty years of quitting and starting and quitting again. "I can quit. I do it all the time."
My dad spent his retirement drinking bad coffee and smoking Camels at a Whataburger in Harlingen Texas. I sat in the Starbucks across the street missing him. He would have hated everything about it.
My neurosurgeon had a treatment ladder. Pain meds first, then maybe PT, then injections, then surgery. I looked at that ladder and knew I couldn't stand on the first rung. So I asked about the second one instead. She lit up like she'd had a double espresso. Part Ten of The Sound That Changed
In 1975 my algebra teacher let us use a computer to check our homework. My answer was wrong. The computer wouldn’t draw my picture. I’ve been trying to get into rooms I wasn’t supposed to be in ever since.
On September 13th 2001 I wrote an email to my friends because writing it made me feel better. I was two days removed from watching the second plane fly directly over my head in Battery Park. It still breaks my heart to think about it. This is what I saw.
I’ve always thought of myself as healthy. Nobody ever got hit with the bus they saw coming. Seven parts.
My father was at Omaha Beach. My wife wrote her congressman at thirteen. Yesterday we took the train to New York.
Waking up with that good feeling from marching in NYC yesterday I made the mistake of opening the news. This hit hard. My dad was at Omaha beach D day + 2. A medic doing triage he never spoke of this until he had accepted hospice. Squandering the sacrifice & goodwill of nations is unconscionable
I spent a couple of days flying a Gulfstream IV coast to coast for work. On my day off I decided to fly my 1975 Mooney on and errand instead of driving. What I learned about skill, muscle memory and humility in my post - The View From Short Final
That girl who said you’re not understanding me? She still corrects me when I’m not understanding something. After 40 years she’s gotten pretty good at it.
After about 10 years off I started writing again. Be kind if you click on over
They’re afraid of losing their jobs. Spineless pussies
Murkowski caves on the GOP tax scam. Sullivan abandons his objection to backing a scam he hasn’t read. The public has no chance to see what secret deals have been made. Shame on both of these hypocrites. They love the tax cut for billionaires. #alaska
Not surprising.
The Trump folks obviously knew and this is, in fact, important for the public to know, given Musk’s deleterious impact on so many. Kudos to @kirstengrind.bsky.social and Megan Twomey for having the guts to report out yet another condition that is in plain sight. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...

Very very important read. A startup backed by the paypal mafia and the Kushner is set to get a contract to privatize the entire internal govt credit card system. No compete sweetheart deal. Justified by bogus claims abt fraud. Pure corruption. www.propublica.org/article/trum...
I signed this. I live in Connecticut so it's like singing to the choir, preaching to the converted. talking to Noah about the flood.

Minimizing a paper trail = no documentation. As someone who interacts with ATC on a daily basis I’m alarmed that an entity where every single transmission is recorded regardless of medium would approach such a transformative overhaul of the most essential service by “transmitting in the blind”
Officials at the FAA have directed staff to identify tens of millions of dollars to fund a Starlink deal for upgrading air traffic control communications. Staff has been instructed to find the funds while minimizing documentation and avoiding a paper trail.

I'm a corporate jet captain. We have the best air traffic controllers in the word. They like most industries these days are overworked and short staffed. There is no waste fraud or abuse in their business. Its a tough job handled admirably. Laying any off will impact safety.

Wait. Have @doge and Elon just been pulling numbers from usaspending.gov ? Then releasing it as if they discovered it ? Brilliant if true. Absolutely brilliant. Fooled me. Very Trump like too. Any usaspending.gov experts out there that can tell us ?
You are up to date.
