If the goal is to "save money" then I can do much better than that. Coca Cola, hire me to make decisions and I can save you 100% of the money you spend on yearly commercials The solution is really simple: Just stop making Christmas Commercials. fxtwitter.com/DiscussingFi...

fxtwitter.comDiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm)Coca-Cola’s annual Christmas advert is AI-generated again this year. The company says they used even fewer people to make it — “We need to keep moving forward and pushing the envelope… The genie is o...

Coca Cola are claiming that "even fewer people" worked on this commercial. And I am baffled. Like. These things have the most generic AI animals ever and the scenes last like 3 seconds. And you are telling me that you still needed to pay more than 1 person to prompt these things?

And I am really serious here. The best shots in the commercial are the Coca Cola Santa Claus and the Coca Cola train. And the reason they look okay, is because we have plenty of footage from previous Coca Cola commercials.

So, how about. Instead of making us watch a weird imitation of what used to be Coca Cola's classic Christmas Commercials. They just didn't make any new commercial and instead just re-aired the ones from previous years? Production cost: 0. Savings: 100%.

Seriously, what is even the point. Is the goal to make Coca Cola synonymous with Christmas? Then just playing the already existing commercials will do the trick. Is the goal to make something that looks good? Then the old commercials do that.

Is the goal to make something new? Then a bunch of scenes of Sora animals is not that. Like as usual one of the main problems with this whole "AI art" deal is that its proponents for some reason want a parade for pushing a button.

Yes, you made a Coca Cola commercial with AI, congrats for saving a bunch of money I guess. But the thing is... it looks like dogshit. And it's not even particularly unique dogshit. It's just AI-generated animals doing generic poses. Something any guy with a Sora subscription can do. Who cares?

The way AI art is pushed is so bizare if you think about it. Imagine if in 1997 Coca Cola were like "The Clip Art Genie is out of the bottle, from now on these will be our advertisements, it saves us a lot of money. like it or not"
