An interesting thing I've noticed is the tech press keeps going on about Google Zero about how Google's AI overviews are gonna be gate keepers of the open web. However, the tech press seems to use Meta's Threads more than Mastodon or Bluesky. Be the change you want to see, etc.

It really is. It's like that meme of a person riding a bicycle, puts a stick in the spokes, falls over and blames someone else. As a collective, the reason we're in the position we are, is because we seem to be okay being in the position we are.
