oh nice, Terra has a reason to exist this time

Yeah, my take is that Terra is good at scanning ++ images plus computer use and in writing fiction. Other than that, Sol at high is better and cheaper than Terra at max. Feels like one in the middle in The Lord of the Rings classic trilogy: a must see cuz storyline but a filler.

Really? I went through my $200 limits in 14 hours today and not in fast mode

Yeah that's kind of the big advantage. Sometimes you just need the equivalent of OCR and then pipe it through some agent SDK. Just a weird one because they really could use a better model that gobbles up usage at this point.

Switched to terra-6.1 medium as the default. Let's see if it will help a bit.

Warp's bench had GPT 5.6 Sol at $6.23 per task, 95% correct.

Terra is better than Sol of the same generation? What are they doing over there?

ah, this is super helpful

that’s crazy

Also, looks like Sol still beats Terra for smarts on a cost-per-task graph.

Model names an version numbers confuse me.

Per OpenAI, GPT-6.1 Terra's API costs $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output, half of GPT-5.6 Terra; its benchmark claims haven't been independently checked. Full story
