fun. deepseek trivially roots tizen on a 2025 samsung lol

hailey@hailey.at

you’re nuts if you’re not using adguard or pihole or something tbqh, as well as using separate subnets for these things. my samsung has the second most blocked requests second only to a windows gaming PC lol. not even the cheap IoT devices compare

Given how fucking miserable the tizem tv in my house is I kinda want this.

I badly wish I could afford to do this with my Dad's Samsung Galaxy S(21?) phone. He bought it refurb (new third-party screen) and a OneUI update wouldn't init the screen so it's basically bricked. Somebody discovered it needs like 1-2 linux shell commands to init the screen and it's fixed..

..but the commands (plus a shell script to run on boot) must be run by root. Samsung won't fix the OneUI issue and won't let US models have their bootloader unlocked to flash things onto it.

I'd looove to take a whack at finding a way to root it with a frontier (or near) model but can't afford that. And.. ohh boy I don't think my Gemma4 7b local is gonna get very far with that 😅
