try to carefully use an LLM to do a thing -> "you're an idiot" try to carefully describe the ways you tried to be rigorous about using an LLM to do a thing -> "well you're clearly not an average user" try to carefully describe the ways you try to help average users use LLMs do a thing -> 😡🔪🔪 etc

Another day on the internet being told that I'm an entitled nepo baby who hates the poor and also thinks they're stupid and also that your podcast episode about the "this is your brain on AI" paper is lies. I should have blocked that person faster.

But seriously, "AI can help people get into game development by letting them do game design experiments right away instead of them running into this technical cliff they have to spent a lot of time scaling before practicing the skill that actually interests them" feels... very obvious?

The thing is if you want to deliver a full polished game you still probably DO need to learn that stuff, at least the fundamentals. But being able to learn them a little at a time, WHILE doing the thing you enjoy, instead of feeling like it's an obstacle between you and that thing seems... better?

Okay so that is actually the literal point that I very sarcastically made. Because yeah! We do not judge games by the degree to which their code was written by the developers! We never have! That's not a thing!

"Well Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 WOULD have been a 9/10, but Neversoft used RenderWare instead of properly learning how to properly optimize their DMA transfers and Vector Unit Microprograms like a REAL game developer would so that's a 7/10 at best."
