"LLMs can help non-programmers with no technical background get a foothold in doing something that used to require a LOT of technical knowledge to get started in, putting them in a better position to learn the technical stuff over time by providing a less steep learning curve" feels uncontroversial?

Oh my gosh, yes. I think of it as similar to riding an e-bike? Yes, I am putting less effort into each pedal. But also this means I'm more willing to just bike places and distances that otherwise I would have driven.

Similarly, LLMs reduce the frustration of coding to a point where I no longer want to throw things when dealing with bugs. So I've spent a lot more time this year doing code-related things that I never ever have before, like deploying to Vercel!

I want to learn proper debugging but my patience is not allowing me right now (unhelped by async causing the debugger to let go in C# specifically!), an LLM helps fill the gap until I can get to that point.

LLMs definitely seem to be more of a learning motivator than people having a tantrum at you online at you for using an LLM, at least.

Lol yeah. Some of the people talking to me have reasonable but differing perspectives. Others.. don't.

Been a while since I've seen this many takes so... bafflingly divorced from reality?
