The corporate hurdle may have been as simple as "We don't know who will be playing the Doctor by the time this would go into production"

Gonna put this firmly into dodged bullet territory

Stop doing these gimmicky crossovers and gimmicks on the whole. Write damn good stories and logical scripts with our beloved Star Trek brand. For that sake, find a bit of inspiration with series/movies like "Andor", "Project Hail Mary", "Alien: Earth", "The Expanse" and "For All Mankind".

If MLP can get away with it, i see no reason star trek shouldn't be able to. it benefits both franchises and its fun.

Frankly; pleased it did not happen. Why do these worlds need to be joined? Doctor Who’s strength is that it’s not Star Trek, Star Wars etc. and vice-versa. Different stories for different tastes, if you will. Just because it’s been done in fan fiction, doesn’t mean it would translate to the screen.

Having seen Russell's version of Who and what Strange New Worlds has become, we are definitely better off without it.

Would that be the first Star Trek tv crossover since that backdoor pilot in TOS about that alien dude and his cat?

How to do it? Ummm the TARDIS goes anytime anywhere so that should be easy.

Honestly? I'm happy with that. IMHO, some franchises do not belong together.

On 4x01 there is a little reference. Pelia say she was on a "Telephone Cabin" watching a solar storm years ago.

See that's when you gotta whip out the Lone Star quote. "We're not just doing it for money. We're doing it for a shitload of money!" Pullman really makes it work. What a guy.

Im glad they didn't do this. I like when trek does stories that matter, stories that develop a character or explore a topic. SNW has had a lot of fantastic episodes like that. But this last season felt very much like "generic TV writing" and it felt like every other modern soulless show.

"The Batman and Robin writer" Maybe that explained a lot

For an unofficial crossover, the Star Trek RPG actual-play Shield Of Tomorrow had a Doctor Who episode, tying into the same group's previous Doctor Who RPG season. I recommend both shows.
