Adventures in trying to get the social-app bluesky stuff to compile on my stock M1 Mac (just the web bit): > node-gyp/24.4.1/include/node/v8config.h:13:2: error: "C++20 or later required." > 13 | #error "C++20 or later required." Guess I need to figure out how to inject -std=gnu2c into the build

Trying to just regex search my way into finding where the hell this error is being spit out so I can figure out what to do to fix it. Maybe instead of upgrading my node I should just backtrack all the way to version 21 or 22 or something.

Modern webdev is so much. I'm installing so many packages and gems and I'm completely unsure of what is doing how and where. One day I'll have to get used to this stuff. It's very different from Systems Engineering.

I’ve been nervous about npm packages because who knows what else they’re pulling in? Last week “is” was compromised for a while. Long enough for a bunch of our ci systems to pull in the infected version. Crowdstrike caught it, but it could have been a lot worse. Now I don’t trust npm AT ALL
