After messing around with a calculator, Iowa Rep. Holt (Denison-R) is asking to introduce an emergency bill banning calculators in schools and libraries. Holt explained, “I was doing some basic math and needed to calculate 16,017 multiplied by 5. I was horrified by the filth it produced!”

Gov. Reynolds expressed support for the emergency bill: “I believe in commonsense values when educating Iowa’s children. It is apparent that calculators are the work of the devil and must be banned.”

Trust me,from a European perspective now watching America, if it was a TV programme we would be switching channels ''what a pile of crap.. who writes this $hit... April 1st ...'' and various other comments...

We just drove across Texas. 137 miles non stop. Filled up in New Mexico, stayed overnight in Oklahoma. I went the other way filled up in OK stayed in Albuquerque. I will never spend another dime in Texas. Didn’t even stop to pee.

So many options, that’s gonna make grocery shopping so difficult in the “great”🤣 state of Texas……. To quote Benjamin Franklin “anything can be a dildo if you’re brave enough“👍💙😂

Surprisingly, unrelated to this:

When I got a PhD in nineteenth-century political history, I really, truly never imagined I would have to find a way to explain to readers what an eggplant emoji means. (Wired reported more Signalgate Venmo accounts.) I yearn for the day when I can write about good, clean fun like tax policy again.
