Doctors at Seminole Memorial Hospital, in Gaines County, noticed a sudden and ominous drop in the number of measles patients coming in, with those showing up being much sicker than before. They blame it on a quack doctor nearby who records anti-vax podcasts and gives out cod liver and vitamin A

nytimes.comKeeping With Kennedy’s Advice, Measles Patients Turn to Unproven TreatmentsIn West Texas, some with severe illness have not been taken to a doctor until their conditions worsened, officials said.

Really terrible article by the NYT here. Credulously calls quack medicine “unproven remedies.” They’re not remedies because they don’t work. They are scams. The NYT has basically given up on its onetime stated value of reporting truth.

They never really stopped—they've used Ms. more frequently as time goes by, but if they know someone is married and has the same last name as her spouse, their style guide still allows Mrs. based on some combination of the person's own preferred usage and editorial whim.

I am not saying we should do this, but in a REALLY good movie, say, we’d find or discover a disease with 100% lethality; quietly pack our vulnerable away in a loving and comfortable quarantine (naw, in a movie that would be a high-stress side-story); 1/

But then we’d strategically release (of course we would have communicated fully to our blue dots who would spread the information to their communities) it, hunker down, And all kinds of drama happens down below. Love story, new baby, you name it. Anywhoozle. I’d watch it. /fin

Oh my god, RKF Jr.’s nonprofit is directly funding this measles outbreak! Literally paying for free quack prophylaxis to lure people without measles to stand in line next to people with actively and highly contagious infections www.nytimes.com/2025/03/15/h... (🎁 🔗)

RFK Jr. is twisted. I was disgusted by the reporting that he drove around with a dead bear and left it in Central Park. And that he drove around with a dead whale on top of his car. People like that are disturbed. I get the feeling he looks at people like he did that bear and that whale.

He's done even worse things than that, but those two are fairly reprehensible & should have been disqualifying. I don't even want to say what he did to small animals in college. He's got serious mental issues.

Are my eyes deceiving me or did the article say this quack rejects germ theory? This is pure madness. People are putting their children’s lives in the hands of a man who is practicing medicine like he’s Paracelus, just putting random shit in some tinctures made of arsenic.
