*pointing to my giant Jon Ossoff Is A Frontrunner sign once again* this is before he wins in Georgia by double digits

I could absolutely see this ticket happening in either order once the primary consolidates, both would have very good reasons to pick the other as VP Ossoff gets instant cred with the left, AOC gets a moderate-coded white guy who appeals to Black voters

Ossoff/AOC millennial thirst trap ticket is on the table, folks.

I feel like aoc would be a better vice ticket, both to sell to people and because the VP slot is traditionally where you put the firebrand ( Biden was an exception!), but I actually think I would like her as president more. That said, I am not going to be picky.

I’d have a hard time w Ossoff putting his senate seat at risk in the 2030 midterms for VP & obviously that’s a no if GA has an R governor appointing his successor until the next election. Honestly, if KLB loses the GA governor race, it makes it harder to support him for President

I don't want AOC wasted as a VP. Seems like that would end her political career (does any VP go back to the house or senate?) unless she becomes president later. Which is possible but still shortens her career. I've said this before but I want her as Speaker.

this is a big reason I think he’s a frontrunner! the nomination goes through Black voters and you don’t win in Georgia without major appeal to that demographic

im just a bird@hawkbirdguy.bsky.social

I don't think many other candidates have anywhere close to the Black voter appeal that Ossoff does ATM

I was worried when he was first elected that he was going to face a lot of trouble for his reelection because that was such a prime environment for Dems to win in GA. But uh...that worry is long gone.

We should have a tough primary to test all these candidates out. When Ossoff comes out on top, AOC would be an interesting running mate. People would be excited.

What's wild is that despite that label and running in a very swingy state, he's the only center-left Dem who's actually speaking clearly to Trump's corruption and disregard for human life and democracy.

Both moderate-coded and progressive-coded enough to be acceptable to either faction while also avoiding any of the anti-fan ratfucking that plagues candidates like Buttigieg. Handsome, swing state, no loser stink on him, kept his hands clean about Gaza, etc.

He's come a long way from the GA-06 days. Don't see eye to eye with him on everything, but the idea of a millennial dem president is very attractive

Pete is leading slightly in UNH's most recent NH poll. However, I thought the interesting bit is that AOC actually *won* the "moderates" cross tab. And that she had really low numbers with the "slightly liberal" (to the left of moderates). I read that as libs discounting her electability.

Ossoff's probably the one Dem that can siphon off Harris' support among black Southern Democrats. Though AOC has been doing quite a bit of retail politics there recently. Not to mention her endorsing Jeffries for Speaker once the Dems take the House in November.

mayor pete has been running for president forever and has a loyal contingent of msnbc liberals who think he’s a nice lad who can talk to republicans he has no base outside that so that’s basically his ceiling ro khanna is the ???? candidate and so are his voters

Steven Vesci@vescis.bsky.social

Really want to know why Buttegieg is up so high, and why Khanna is on here at all

Not having a government job, Mayor Pete can go on TV and stump for other candidates. That keeps him in the public eye. Also, those of us who pay attention to DOT thought he did a good job there. I get the excitement for Ossoff, but most people don't know who he is yet.

Pete appeals to tons of normie libs and low-info voters and he did prob the best job of any Biden admin official. While ceiling may not be as high, it always seems so bizarre to see the online left hate him

we call him mayor pete because he has zero success in electoral politics outside of south bend. cannot be the nominee.

buttigieg has many valuable skills but he's demonstrated repeatedly that he lacks the judgment to be the guy who sets the course of the ship of state. again, super valuable, but a number two at best. a first follower if you will.

I…question that assumption as well. If he was able to turn “able to talk to GOP voters” into votes, why didn’t he run for Indiana’s senate seat while he lived there? And if he can’t turn them into votes in red states, specifically his OWN red state, what are we even doing here?

I’ve said it elsewhere but Pete’s ceiling is cabinet member. There is nothing wrong with that by the way, but the dude is great at going on shows hostile to an administration and making a case for it but if he’s not focused will talk for hours saying noting.
