why is being a conspiracy theorist so normal now. microsoft is not trying to prevent you from buying hard drives for a home server

I don’t think its complicated. Companies that sell cloud compute etc would love for you to pay them rather than for you to not pay them. Incentives are aligned for them to prefer you renting from them!

maybe, but this is someone gesturing at the price chart for ram and ssds and saying “they” want to do this to hard drives as well
