The neocons won’t be happy until everyone in the country is an “independent contractor” (except MPs of course, they deserve a gold plated pension after 5 years or something)
In 2001, there was a one-day national strike on Sep 11 which ended later that day for obvious reasons. In 2004, there was a strike that lasted less than a week. In 2023, it was eight working days.
Every single time? There was a Liberal government in power. Every one of them.
In my country (France) they call this issue the continuity of services. They are ok with workers going on strike or protest BUT some of them must keep working to maintain a minimal activity. Trust a french, stikes and protests are made to exhaust the people so they lose but think "I tried".
You know here political leaders will say "The right to protest is sacred that's freedom of speech etc" so they'll make sure you can take a street and walk down shouting your own frustration etc BUT only if this doesnt stop the industry, yeah, go cry a minute then you'll come back, loser.
Just like when college students try to occupy their college etc, cops come to arrest them because they impeach others who want to go to their classes. If you want to yell I'm mad as hell and I'm going to take it anymore, go for it but this wont change nothing BUT your ability to go back to work..
No, not the liberals. It's the duopoly that's after that.
Don't fall for the duopoly's sucker trap. Realize that you have only the illusion of choice of a political party when you vote for either of the two top contenders and no one else ever gets anywhere.
A reminder that the Liberal govt signed an MOU with federal unions on telework rights & then turned around & violated it by unilaterally mandating 3 & 4 days in office - they didn’t even bother giving the unions a heads up. How can they be trusted when they’ve already shown their word means 💩
Carney never hid his dislike of unions (they have a nasty way of affecting the bottom lines of these huge corporations) we witnessed that during the 2025 Air Canada strike when workers were ordered back to work after just 3 days. He can't be trusted.
