Dems & the DSA are all democrats, and we need to beat united. We need each other. The primary election winners are demonstrating that perfectly; why can’t the pundits & party leadership? We need to beat the REPUBLICANS, not ourselves. Bad actors will try to exploit perceived rifts. Don’t let them.

Democrats have a nearly flawless record of letting perfect be the enemy of the good. Single issue voters need to just chill this time. There’s too much at stake. You know who you are.

agreed Jessie, we need to stay focused on who the actual opponents are, the fascists that are currently in charge. Before we get a pony, first we have to clean out the stables.

The die has been cast, the candidates are set. Now is the time to stand together for those who will stand up to Trump and set America back on the path to normalcy. If Democrats stand together, Independents will be drawn to the vision of opportunity for all, not just the few. Now is the time.

Anyone not prioritizing getting the big win to get back in power for a personal grievance candidate doesn't get it. This is our last chance. You divide our votes as your purity test, we lose the USA permanently.

There’s a lot of money at stake. Many progressive candidates are declining corporate and PAC funding. There’s a whole industry devoted to fundraising, hosting conferences, advising, etc. If their advice is no longer needed their out of jobs

Actually, I think there’s an analogy to the recent study that computes the huge savings with Medicare for all— when you cut out all the entities that have sprung up to profit from a system the work (electing Dems in this case) can still get done!

Bad news: the uniparty is real. When we elect outsiders, a minimal set of insiders will defect on critical issues. In doing so, make themselves known. Several election cycles will be required to (re)create a real second party. As we eat away at the Washington Generals faction, progress will emerge.

Absolutely! This is what frustrates me about the Dems. Haven't they learned, yet, that fracturing the party is not the way to win? Nancy Pelosi was great at getting the party unified. Jeffries is disappointing with that. The Repubs stand together even when they shouldn't. Dems need to wise up.

Bad actors as in corp dems bought by AIPAC. They’re the ones who fuggin LOVE to make a distinction and say that DSA policies such as Medicare for all and free higher education are impossible. Frankly, they need to take the L and admit we’re better under one tent. They need to WORK for the people

Agreed, but the establishment is doing whatever they can to split the party and the vote. What can be done with the folks in the tent who are saying there's no room for you? Too extreme. Too far left. Too woke. Too brown. Too black. Too loud. Too angry. Too queer. Too trans. Too much.

I have yet to meet someone who has run as or voted for a DSA candidate, who wasn't also willing to go along with the tired adage of vote blue no matter who. Where is the establishment reciprocation for the candidates who have put their all into their races and come out on top?

Why haven't Schumer, Jeffries, the DNC, the DCCC, etc. full-throatedly thrown their behind these candidates? The entire crux of this argument is flawed, because of the obvious truth that the current establishment has no interest in being a big tent. They want your vote and they want you to shut up.

The DSA party platform has the goal of becoming a viable third party. The long term goal is to compete with and undercut the Dems and they do it by spreading negative stereotypes of Dems while erasing all D accomplishments such as Biden's big bills. Yes, vote out the Rethugs. That is the mean goal

now. But DSA candidates need to be evaluated individually just as all candidates are and the smears and lies need to be called out from those individuals who engage in that divisiveness. DSA is not the victim of some kind of D party leadership conspiracy. They are not ENTITLED to support.

Jeffries is politically inept, always on defense. Fearful of Dems being tied to fringe national DSA policies, he voluntarily *points out those policies* to parrot GOP talking points and tar Dem allies. Get on OFFENSE. Show common cause. Far more in common with DSA than not. Elevate your allies!

Fortunately, that’s what’s happening on the ground in real life. The rifts exist mostly on the Internet with folks who have been rage farmed. And sadly, with Jeffries on the Sunday shows.

Allison Gill!!! Thank you, . I've been posting this at least a couple times every day!! I am so sick of them seeming to NEED to shoot themselves in the foot at every opportunity!!!!

🎯 Either the DSA and the Dems come together as a new Big Tent Party or the GOP maintains its disastrous control of the country and the slide toward full authoritarian rule.

Powerlessness and despair lead people to turn on one another. However, different viewpoints can combine to create something beautifully unified, but yes, that requires compromise. Democracy always has and always will. Purity test accomplishes nothing. livelovecycle.squarespace.com/blog/a-kalei...

You bet we need each other & in far more ways than one. Some days it is beyond frustration that the plain ass human factor has not been put at the forefront. What do we want to see as Democrats come to change for the betterment of all Americans & beyond.

Pundits are paid to map the friction, not resolve it. Party leadership treats a coalition like a fragile vase, while the voters are treating it like a power tool. One is terrified of a crack; the other just wants to build something.

DC elite politicians are beholden to money and their corporate donors. They don’t have true beliefs. They will do what they are told. And they are told to resist this arm of the democrats.

Yea, primaries are over. Now we coalesce to stomp on the orange bastards minions. People also need to know going forward any Republican that wins is going to be worse than the last one. Look at Texas, Cornyn was a drip but a Sen Paxton is like electing Corruption Godzilla.

Agree, but I would add that we cannot ignore the right’s use of “socialists”. They are good at forming scare tactics around a word that’s in the darned dictionary. We know how this works. Words matter, “both sides” (yes I hate that too). Sharia law is a calling card for them again. Scaring works.🤯

The right still uses it and I know those who use it as a slur and “free stuff for all”. The right is good at that.. have for my entire life and I’m old. What’s the saying.. rinse, recycle, repeat, right. Can’t use caravans now, but still hear open boarders. We are smarter and don’t mind differences.

If you take your cues and measure off of the opinions of the right wing then words will literally always be scary. That's simply not a good idea.

💯, 2026 midterms is a numbers game, Trump will never sign a dem bill, and no one candidate can make or change policy without majority approval in Congress, a reminder for those uncomfortable with the term socialist in DSA.

Dems arent the ones calling me a genocidist even though I have never given one dollar to AIPAC. And Dems arent the ones flooding high profile Black Women accounts telling them to "get in line" The online antisemitism from "DSA" is worse now on BSKY then the MAGA posts in 2016

The media is trying to make it out like there’s a problem. Also acting like more progressive candidates are so radical. They aren’t. Republicans are radical. They’re far right zealots, white suprematists, and fascists. That is radical and anti democratic.

I didn't say that you had done that. I think you're amplifying the voice of an individual who IS slagging progressives & their candidates, on a daily basis. His name is Chris Webb. He's working really hard to sew distrust and promote zionist talking points. Why give him your audience?

So you're saying that before I share someone's post, I have to go back through their entire history to make sure they haven't said something I disagree with? It's generally understood on the internet that shares and likes do not equal endorsements.

Attacking primary winners is how we give elections to the Republicans. We are so stupid that we will spend all our energy looking for reasons not to vote for our own candidates instead of joining together to defeat the enemy.

I feel like the centrists are using "DSA" in the same way the MAGAs use "DEI." Tell us exactly what policies you disagree with, people. I suspect they won't because they know how popular those policies would be without the scare label.

The Dems want to court republicans rather than members of the DSA. The establishment Dems don't want to work with the left, they want to work with the right. Vote for them in the general when they're the only option, but criticize them to high hell while you do so.

A. They have to work with Republicans to get votes right now, at least a few. Dsa leaning candidates already vote with them. B. Republicans are often huge parts of their states... while the dsa are not. C. Criticizing them to high hell will get a response and likely have an election impact.

Either fight UNITED against fascist, authoritarian, theocratic zealotry... Or play democrat purity politics until the fucking Nazi's put all of us to death via firing squads, or they decide to nuke the fucking planet. Choose now or die bitching about bullshit. youtu.be/nFbqdVqSlFE?...

Agreed. And as a communist, we died by the millions to help defeat fascism. We’ll fight and die again if we have to. But under no circumstances will I fight alongside anyone who calls an antifascist, a fascist. Know your enemy. Know your allies. Or go home and hide under your bed. Avanti!

Once more, either the DSA and the Dems come together, or the GOP takes the White House again in 2028. As an Independent perhaps I can be more objective about this than either group.

Noooo!! You are missing the point that the pundits and the party leadership most definitely ARE OUR ENEMY! Every house candidate should be asked now to disavow Hakeem Jeffries as speaker, and every senator to disavow Chuck Israel Schumer! These traitors must go!

It Absofuckinglutely SHOULD be the goal, but it’s not us progressives who are preventing that. If you can’t see what Schumer and Jefferies are actually doing to prevent that, then you’re definitely missing the assignment… 😬🤷🏼‍♂️

I vehemently disagree with anyone who thinks diplomats can keep Russia from invading their neighbors. As evidence to support this I refer to the entire history of the Russian empire. Anyone who supports Russia should go.

For all my bitching about certain types in the DNC, for all the ire I feel for sold-out, out of touch legacy Congress people I have never once in my voting life voted R and I won’t now. People who can somehow talk themselves in to a whole other political philosophy bc a few make them mad seem crazy

Well Fetterman called the dsa victories lunacy, Carville threatens to leave the party, and Jeffries on record not supporting dsa or m4a. Left def being vilified. Both sides firing at each other, and it's not helpful

I feel like someone needs to tell the DSA that, too. We have one shared enemy, the GOP, and if we refuse to vote unless we have the perfect candidate of our dreams, we’re going to just keep losing. I’m more than happy to vote for a DSA candidate. I feel like the feeling isn’t mutual. Just my opinion

Exactly. Having Republicans as our opposition is fight enough - those on the left and center who spend their time trashing each other, and those who shriek that both parties are identical can do nearly as much harm as MAGA. Eye on the prize. Win the midterms.

Basically, it’s about the money. When you’re taking in millions from special interests, it makes things difficult. Hakeem Jeffries took in over $1 million from insurance company related pacs. With more gravy in the pipeline, working with the DSA becomes much harder if not impossible

If corporate Democrats want to keep serving two (or more) masters, they've got to go. No more undermining. And get rid of those odious "A-List Celebrities" who pontificate about politics & protecting the environment and then jump into their private jets to hob-nob with oligarchs & tyrants.

well, we both know that party leadership and the republicans are two sides of the same coin, so that's why they're actively working against DSA, who actually represent _the people_.

That’s not my point. My point is that there are a lot of Dems that want those things. And why slam them when you can go after republicans instead? Why alienate large swaths of voters?

There was a reason why Harris lost. In my opinion we had 70 million not vote last time because they did not understand the true mission. If we want to save the soul of the US then we have to unite behind whoever the candidate is. Put your own issues & pride aside and support each other.

I mean you are responsible for running a winning campaign regardless of the opposition. If america became too dumb (no child left behind) or money got too much influence (citizens united) we should have been rallying the public non stop around such issues for decades, not gong 'this is important'

when the track record was fixing none of the stuff that got us there. I voted for Harris last time, I'd probably brass tax vote D for president again because I believe in harm reduction. But voters aren't mythical creatures, if they are stupid and propgandized and we haven't fixed it I have little

I am happy to support anyone who sees the true fight we are in, regardless of where they are on the political spectrum. This includes DSA, Dems and Republicans (unless they are running under current iteration of GOP).

I hope there's enough enthusiasm and unity for us to win this country back, but every Marxist shithead who refused to vote for a liberal candidate should still be locked in a cell with every centrist shithead who refused to vote for a DSA candidate and then we should throw away the key.

DSA aren't Democrats though. If they were they would join us rather than creating a hostile parallel organization to weaken or destroy us. DSA is a functionally parasitic and seeks to take over their host organization because they think they, as DSA, are somehow "purer" than actual Democrats are!

The corporate establishment Dems are the ones I see having problems with unity. bsky.app/profile/waja...

Wajahat Ali@wajali.bsky.social

Y'all think I'm crazy or paranoid. Here's another one. There are members of the Dem establishment and donor base who will GLADLY lose if it means keeping progressives in their place. They need/want Mamdani, El-Sayed and others to fail. www.mediaite.com/media/tv/for...

DSA is NOT Democrats. They are an organization attempting to use the Democratic party to gain power. They are open in their detestation of the Democratic party, and abhor democracy yet are using the democratic process to both undermine democracy and the Democratic party.

Some of us in flyover country see it for what it is- old timers who give lip service to change while desperately holding the door against those willing to commit to change. Power is not given. Power is taken. They fear power diminished more than they fear the other party.

A major issue the DSA will face is the praising of totalitarian regimes in their name. The DSA needs to distance themselves from the USSR, Cuba, China and any other ‘communist’ country. Those aren’t the type of regimes they want to emulate. What they want is something more akin to Western Europe.

Obviously both sides are doing the same shit and expecting different results. wake The fuck up.. Americans are tired of their business as usual Bullshit. We need more people like AOC and Crockett And make these asshats start working for the American people again and not the fucking corporations

Welcome to the world of reality. You're seriously asking why we should put Democrats back in control of the Senate? You'd rather have a Republican majority leader than a Democratic majority leader? How's the weather in Moscow, Amigo?

I’m with you. Can’t take how the very real reaper called fascism is ascending in front of us, yet many to the left of it are insisting upon arguing. We must defeat fascism. Nothing else matters right now. That includes worrying about 2028 — which won’t happen if we don’t beat this monster now.

Stop attacking Democrats; you're doing exactly what Allison is saying we need to stop doing. The various factions of self-identified leftists make up 1–3%, while broader “liberal/progressive” identification is at 25%, with 35% identifying as moderate. We are not winning elections without moderates.

Pay attention, Dave. I’m not dissing Democrats, writ large, but, rather, I’m answering the (likely rhetorical) question Allison asked: “The primary election winners are demonstrating that perfectly; why can’t the pundits & party leadership?” I stand by what I said.

People against the Gazan genocide that did not support Harris/Walz cost Democrats the 2024 election. The DNC post-election analyses states that. So how many more Gazans have died since Trump 2.0 took office? #VoteBlueNoMatterWho is the only way to halt a Fascist takeover of America

Maybe the way forward is to not label things, especially avoiding the word "socialist" and focus on what appeals to people like healthcare for all, cheaper housing, stopping datacenters, saving the environment. America has a long history of fear of "socialism" even if it loves the results.

💯 This pompous attitude by the dem establishment will bite them in the rear again. People need to unite and keep their eyes on the real threat facing this nation.

We need to defeat Corporatists in all forms, but the small step towards that is electing Democrats in the short term, then voting the corps out We can't keep pretending Democrats are not a compromised party, it hurts the movement and distances voters who don't wish to engage in lesser evil politics

They won't come together, because establishment Dems are terrified of things like universal healthcare and police reform because they're afraid talking about it might lose them votes.

Allison, much as I appreciate the sentiment, but for as long as that dreadful DSA gal, Megan Romer, keeps going on FOX and Piker et al keeps up the rac*st rants, you may have a problem selling this. So why don't you go talk to them about their behavior instead of acting like it's a 'WE' problem?

They’re not stupid they’re strategic. AIPAC and weapons manufacturers donate tens of thousands of dollars to something like 76% of Congress. They’re getting paid by the same people to reach the same goals - they’re not actually working for the people.

Nope. We can’t divide the opposition. And 100% of the DSA members I know - and the ones who have been elected - identify as democrats. People need to stop pointing to the fringe as mainstream. It’s what the oligarchs are spending billions to make us think.

"I can't see my city; but I can feel it. The system isn't working. It's rotten; corrupt. But this is our city, not his. And we can take it back. Together. The weak. The strong. All of us. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild. Because we are the city. Without fear." - Daredevil: Born Again

“Get the money out of politics” is going to be the tallest mountain we ever climb. That money - finds its way into *a lot of pockets.* People we always thought were on our side - may have only been pretending.
