It's a shame that "defend your culture" always means "hate strangers different from you" and never "enact anti-pollution laws so that you can go fishing with your grandkids the way your grandpa taught you."

It's been a long time since anyone could go fishing for free (legally). In an ideal world everyone dropping a line would be courteous and respectful enough that we wouldn't need licenses.

I share your sadness about this general principle but perhaps it would cheer you up to know that there are actually a fair number of hunting and fishing groups that specifically support environmental protections

The polymath and ‘stand up philosopher’ Alan Watts nailed this in the 60’s - when the US outlawed burning the flag, the same senators who invoked love of their country were permitting rivers to be polluted and forests to be cut down

It's never* even "offer to teach new people about your culture", when the very definition of culture is around learning the ways of doing stuff. * At least where MAGA morons and the British equivalent are concerned. Some of the more socially-conformist Euro cultures are, in fact, big on this.

THEY hate our freedom! The only way to preserve American ingenuity and creativity is with a robust public arts program that celebrates bold and innovative forms of creative expression! Keep America in the lead!
