I have spent my entire career listening to FedSoc types complain about liberal “activist judges” who “legislate from the bench,” and none of them are going to say a single blessed thing about Sam Alito rewriting the Voting Rights Act to say what he thinks Congress ought to have said

It's tempting to think that white supremacy is about pointy hoods, burning crosses, backward (redneck), uneducated hillbillies just being backward. Nope. This SCOTUS is illuminating: higher education really isn't the road to enlightenment.

Even the *Black* Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, voted for this SICKENING, RACIST, DISCRIMINATORY VOTING ACT OF INJUSTICE‼️...Doesn't this RACIST have a MIRROR in his home⁉️ ...UNBELIEVABLE‼️

The entire project of the FedSoc KKKlergy has been to establish permanent KKKristofascist minority rule apartheid and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. That is its raison d'etre and what it is now on the cusp of fully achieving with this newest SKKKOTUS fatwa.

It's not that far removed in history that the Sam Alito's of this country would have been demonized by the KKK. Of course, if you become a Supreme Court justice and come down on Black people you've REALLY arrived, right? All American Sam.

These six “justices' are American Nazis. They are intentionally destroying the US Constitution & the American Republic in order to compel the American people to live under their retrograde racist, bigoted, misogynistic worldview . . . by any means necessary. They are J6 & insurrectionary flags.

Friendly reminder that five of the six Republican-appointed judges on the Court were nominated by a President who was either in or got into office and benefitted from the incumbency while losing the popular vote. It’s minority rule gone amok.

It preceded Alito. Scalia couldn't wait to throw out his "racial entitlement" excuses for Shelby v. Holder in 2013. Step-N-Fetchit Thomas likely soiled himself in ecstasy when he completed the demolition of the VRA today. Thomas should be behind bars for corruption.

Those aren’t conservatives, those are racists and they should be removed they’re not qualified to do the job, which is merely the intent of a law, not the making of laws.

Republicans have been projecting for a hell of a long time! I remember hearing all about “ legislating from the bench,” each and every time the Supreme Court issued a ruling that Republicans didn’t like. And look who’s doing it. SMDH

Like every RW move, it follows the standard pattern: “Rules for thee, But not for me” You cannot win a contest where one side is assumed to be allowed to break any rule they like, but your side cannot break any rule at any time. Dem leadership has never understood this.

Everything the Right has said for decades has proven to be complete bullshit masked to hide a racist, oligarch agenda. The left thought it was a battle of ideas while the Right said whatever worked to support their racism. Democracy notions only matter as long they support their racist ideals

Sadly if you looked hard enough, this was pretty evident even back in Bush Jr's time. Kanye was right when he said George Bush hates black people (and he's rarely right, haha).

the left has been called hysterical evil extremists who want to censor everyone when we brought up that these people are platforming christofascist that was downplayed not admitting their reasons should lead to inference of malice. in the marketplace they're scammers &1 shouldnt talk to scammers

What do conservatives always say when liberals criticize a Supreme Court decision? "Get Congress to pass a law," right? That is EXACTLY what happened here. In 1982, Congress explicitly overruled a Court case that narrowly interpreted the VRA. Today, Sam Alito said, nope, we were right all along.

cool. let's pass a law that the supreme court is a random group of fedral judges explicitly chosen for each case to grant cret, sit on the case, rule and then dissolve as the next case and supreme court forms. honestly would increase the number of cases heard (

FWIW, I think being able to select your own cases is part of the problem: either let the randomly chosen panel select cases that are ready for conference in their week, but then let a different random panel decide them, or just select entirely different panels for cert decisions.

who wouldn't want a chance to be a justice for three weeks) reduce bribery- hard to bribe almost everyone. create greater consensus since you have to make a broad argument rathe than bespoke to the swing justices preferred hobby horse. oh. and that starts the day the law is passed.

And when is Congress going to be more at the height of its power than when the Constitution says it shall have the power to pass "appropriate legislation" for the purpose? The amendment could have had a time limit, a stricter standard, etc. It didn't then. It doesn't now.

I am tired of the six justices of this Supreme Court being referred to as conservative. They are not. They are reactionary. They are partisan and anything but conservative.

All the anti-choice zealots who eagerly supported trump to get a Court that would overturn Roe are responsible for all the carnage Roberts, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett are inflicting on our country

And strip their jurisdiction down to nothing but what Art. III expressly lists as SCOTUS’s original jurisdiction and..maybe admiralty cases, or bankruptcy, or something like that. The rest goes to some new appellate court comprised of all judges that hear cases in randomly assigned panels.

Nothing in the Constitution says Congress must provide the Supreme Court a building, law clerks, or secretaries. Congress cannot lower the justices' salaries. So, perhaps a future Congress can refuse to pay for electricity, law clerks, or secretaries. (For decades, the justices worked out of homes.)

The conservative justices talk all this shit about how they are mere faithful "interpreters" of laws that Congress passes. They are lying, but they are never lying harder than when, as here, their response to Congress passing a law they don't PERSONALLY like is "nah, we know better."

I'm tired of thinking about them, waiting in suspense for their next terrible decision, being grateful for every little reprieve, oh that could have been somewhat worse. At the very next trifecta, I expect Democrats to pass Court reform and we can talk about something else.

This country was founded on minority rule, when only men with property could vote right? Next to go is women’s suffrage for which so many knuckle-dragger “Christian” Nat—Nazis are working. SCOTUS wouldn’t uphold the 14th so why would they uphold the 19th??

It's almost like they had always been full of shit. Lying merely to foment minority rule and crush dissent legally, forever. I keep telling people, when the confederacy traitors lost and said time and time again "the south will rise again" we should have taken that as the obvious threat it was.

congress should pass a law redeclaring the 1982 law and overturning all Sup Ct cases on the VRA from 1982 to present. make it clear how illegitimate its actions are

When you’ve enabled a mentally ill king why stop there!? No meaningful pushback has prevented us from being thoroughly abused by the GOP and it won’t end anytime soon.

Sometimes a law is not enough, and the nation has to pass a constitutional amendment to undo the Supreme Court's malevolence. And that's not enough, because the Court is as willing to ignore the intent and the history of anything in the constitution to rewrite the law to their preferences.
