AIPAC SHAKUR can go sit in the corner. He's nothing more than a useless sellout him and Chuckles can kick rocks they have no power here. The people are taking back power, the power you squandered landed us in this position we are in now. GOP as a whole=trash Dem leadership as a whole= trash

Jefferies in the House and ‘AIPAC Schumer’ in the Senate should have realised by now that they are the problem in the Democratic Party. They should stop projecting onto others their own inability to handle a narcissistic and fascist POTUS, supported by a manifestly GOP-biased SCOTUS.

Dems do this performative “what should we do differently to win working-class voters!?” schtick and then just say hall of fame stupid shit like this Yeah Hakeem, your party is finally winning elections again, so let’s have those winners debase themselves and apologize for winning?

Either the writing on the wall is in Sanskrit or he's deliberately ignoring the fact that people love the new Mayor. We've have had enough with standard issue strong letter crafers and prefer our elected officials actually DOING SOMETHING, ANYGADDAMTHING to make our lives better.

Mamdani does not need to patch things up with congressional Democrats, on account of all the ones he "wronged" lost their seats yesterday. If any remaining congressional Democrats feel aggrieved, they might consider sucking less.

We Dems have always been more left than Dem leadership. The Overton window has moved so far right now that Reagan is considered a tree-hugging socialist hippie now. Leadership better get with the program or we need new leaders. We need full-steam FDR NOW.

Jeffries is NOT a leader for change. He’s a status quo Dem who only talks, but doesn’t really help the people. He also won’t hold those accountable who’ve been wrecking our country, with their fast-tracked fascism. Mamdani scares the party bc it means they’ll have to actually WORK for Americans

Jeffries is a dead man walking (he's unserious and his power is gone) and the idea that when progressives win against DNC candidates, progressives have to somehow apologize for winning is insane.

No contest. Schumer has no charisma at all. Jeffries has on occasion given a decent speech. Schumer should step down as minority leader NOW. I look forward to the speakership election in Jan 2027 with great interest.

I have no idea what Nancy Pelosi saw in him. The cynic in me wonders if in a strange way she was protecting her legacy by having such a weak successor. Not that it needed protecting, is she is arguably the most effective SOH of all time.

and sho can be the most feckless useless Dem taint wart in govt. Fuckin' Schumer going back on the fight for UFO disclosure horseshit. Goddam what a useless jackass. UFOs? Um yea, top of everybody's to go list right now. Fuckin Schumer 😡

He's shown his true colors. Feckless Dr. Seuss came in like a lion and will go out like a lamb. Dems need wise warriors who aren't beholden to PAC $$$... leaders who inspire.

Is that why on one actually challenged Jeffries for his seat, the primary of which was Tuesday as well? Or do you think flipping three whole blue seats to DSA backed candidates is going to change the balance of the caucus?

Another example of the entitled and out of touch D establishment. The voters of those districts told the incumbents that they didn’t like the way they were being represented. Jeffries should be imploring Mamdani to help build a D platform with candidates that support it.

Yeah, also you can't credibly say "No Kings" and "the GOP is an existential menace to democracy" when you're treating Congress as America's House of Lords, and spinning out when a handful of primary results aren't to your liking.

Cannibalising an entire party is a side effect of years of people saying "a vote for x is a vote for y", even when both x and y have fundamentally different values than you. The Democratic Party needs to be replaced one bite at a time.

Alternatively, we could *not* serve the ego of an entitled mediocrity. If Jeffries doesn't like it, he's more than welcome to go fuck himself.

And he’s basically confirming that we are right about him and about establishment democrats as a whole. If you are going to fight against this energy that is bringing people out to vote, then you care more about the status quo than about your constituents, plain and simple.

What he did was run a progressive campaign in a progressive city, just like his endorsed candidates did. When he starts picking winners in purple/red district campaigns we can talk about whatever it is you think he's doing right now.

And did so despite minimal party support, open criticism, complaints he's an anti-Semite, and some Dems throwing support to Andrew "Sexual harassment" Cuomo. And because people seem actively enthused about Mamdani. Even in a deep blue city that's not a given.

These people forget that Mamdani blew them out of the water in the Democratic primary. He’s not some independent that came out of nowhere with throngs of socialists, he had overwhelming support from registered Dems the whole time.

NY is very different than the rest of the country. In most swing districts, moderates keep winning. I would love Mamdani and these candidates to be what the Dem party is, but it’s just not. It’s not insignificant that these candidates won, though. May this be a sign of change to come in the party.

But Jeffries really is a bit clueless here. He and most of the establishment Dems don’t realize where a good portion of their electorate are. They can’t admit that these candidates won because NY Dems agree with the criticisms made about the party.

This isn’t what happened. You fell for social media clickbait. bsky.app/profile/cnn....

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was asked by reporters if New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani had made enemies on Capitol Hill after the mayor endorsed the primary challengers of a pair of sitting Democratic incumbents in House races in New York.

The question was about the mood on Capitol Hill. Jeffries responded that some reps there are bothered he endorsed against incumbents, and so if he cares about having a positive working relationship with them, he should have a conversation about it with them about it. That’s how politics works.

Jeffries had 15+ months to show he can lead the opposition party and gives a damn about we the people. He never even stepped up to the plate to take a swing. Sit down, sir. Your moment passed you by. Let people with the courage to lead take their shot.

To me it’s seems like the anti AIPAC sentiment is the current thing moving the needle. The flood of money from APAC actually working against the candidates.
