A Batavia (NY) City Schools board member (who is also a pastor) called the Salem Witch Museum "Satanic" and voted against a senior class trip that included a visit there. The museum’s response? Free tickets for every Batavia senior who plans to visit. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/salem-witc...

Mr. “more rocks”. The resistance and persistence of Giles Corey during the Salem Witch Trials resulted in the establishment of our most precious and important legal rights - 5th Amendment, 8th Amendment, Right to a Fair Trial, Due Process for property rights. Search and learn from his story

Appreciate you covering this. The pastor is ignorant of what the Salem Witch Trials were, and he should have the humility to apologize for his stupidity. People who were smeared as witches and murdered by the Christian community in Salem were Christians! The height of spiritual abuse. Please give:

That museum teaches the historic lesson that the social hysteria that comes from greed and mistrust of one another based on no evidence is violent and deadly and we should avoid repeating those errors. A truly sacred lesson.

I too object to high school students visiting the Salem Witch Museum, but only because teenagers shouldn't have to face a deathclaw, even with numbers on their side. I'll go join Dan Schmidt in the Objections That Are Pointless In Reality group.
