If Ebola gets loose, it’ll make the corona virus pandemic look like a mild cold. There is a vaccine for only *one* of the Ebola variants, and trump has crippled every healthcare agency that could help should the need arise. Just one more thing to thank the orange underwear stain in the WH for.

As a Texan, I kind of object to this, though get where you’re coming from. Can we do North Dakota instead? Houston, Dallas, Austin, and the rest of the semi-metropolitan cities in my state are blue leaning if not “very blue”. It’s voter suppression and apathy at play here.

Same. Treated a girl from Liberia who had a febrile seizure. I treated her and got a call like two weeks later her entire family was in quarantine. I just about nearly pissed myself.

That isn't true. Once the hantavirus was identified, measures were taken to contact the people who left the boat in St Helena, and they were instructed to quarantine. Multiple countries and US states are monitoring those former passengers. It's not easily spread, and the outbreak will be confined.

To be fair, ebola is VERY easily contained by even the slightest amount of safety precaution. Like, you have to come in direct internal contact with infected fluids. Third world nations pretty commonly end up with ebola emergencies because their municipal planing is basically non existent

We did have three cases in Texas during that time, but you’re correct, Obama ramped up surveillance when the guy who lied on his visa, brought Ebola here, and infected two hospital nurses. Patient zero died and the two nurses survived.

We had a family suspected of having it here. It took almost two weeks for medical control to call me back and tell me I'd treated one of them and they were in quarantine. We are not equipped to handle this.
