Biggest pain points of using Tauri over Electron for me: - Inconsistent webview behavior: mac / windows / linux all different implementations - Safari devtools not as good as Chrome devtools - Rust complexity & slow compile time

Safari is cursed, I have a button with onpointerdown event, if you click a <select> first, then try to click the button, it will not fire onpointerdown, you need to click it again. Not a problem in Chrome.

Hard to say, I used electron recently after many years and is much better that before, especially with Vite based solutions, the perf and mem usage argument is a running joke more then a real problem nowadays tbh

I’m sure they mentioned, when the project first started out, that they’d provide different backend options like Node or Go. I just don’t “get” Rust so I hope that’s still true; wrangling Electron is getting harder with each release of Forge.

Co-signed everything Almost everything can be done vis JS, that is also expected from any plugin to expose both APIs I know they are experimenting with their own “browser” based on Servo but is a very far fetched thing, on a @syntax.fm interview there are interesting info
