Deno v2.7.6 is out with 78 changes - 7 features, 12 perf improvements, and 59 fixes github.com/denoland/den... - deno eval now auto-detects CJS vs ESM - --cpu-prof-flamegraph generates interactive SVG flamegraphs - 28+ Node.js compat fixes (child_process, crypto, tty, worker_threads) - and more

The next version of Tempest will have its own exception page! We previously used Whoops, but it wasn't the best experience. Credit where due, this new exception page is inspired by Laravel :)

Every PHP developer should check Mago. It's part of the future of PHP tooling. I highly recommend at least using the formatter and the linter!

One feedback that came up a lot is that performance was not good on some browsers. This was due to the heavy use of blurs and gradients while being animated... I updated the effect to use shaders. Performance should be greatly improved, let me know! tempestphp.com

tempestphp.comTempest, the PHP framework that gets out of your wayTempest is a modern framework designed to enable developers to write as little framework-specific code as possible, so that they can focus on application code instead.

Tempest's website redesign is released. ✨ tempestphp.com

It's also a very good linter, and soon, a static analyzer that would be able to replace phpstan and psalm. It's written in Rust, so it's super fast as well! It's being worked on by @azjezz.bsky.social, please support him :)

Would recommend: Mago. It's a fairly new code formatter (and much more). We started using it with Tempest because PHP CS Fixer doesn't support PHP 8.4 yet.

It's weekend, which is the perfect time to check out Tempest beta! Here are four things that sets it apart and makes me excited: #php #tempest

That's what got me interested in Tempest in the first place.

tempestphp.comDiscovery — TempestLearn how Tempest automatically locates controller actions, event handlers, console commands, and other components of your application.

Someone on Reddit: "Tempest is the only PHP framework where I could organize my code six different ways (VSA, onion, MVC, etc.) and not have to change a single line of code in the project template. I say that as a long time user of both Symfony and Laravel." Nice!

I was super disappointed when Fig got acquired, and I've missed this feature since So cool that VS Code has it now

Enhance your terminal experience in VS Code by enabling this one setting ⚙️ The terminal.integrated.suggest.enabled setting, currently in preview, surfaces rich completion support for your terminal.

There's no reason to use React anymore. 😎

Tempest is so clean. Notice how the the command class doesn't extend a `Command` and how you don't have to remember any API? Just add the `ConsoleCommand` attribute, that's it. 👌🏻

Wanna schedule a command in Tempest to run on an interval. Just add `#[Schedule]` 🌊

Let me introduce you to Tempest’s heartbeat: discovery. It’s what sets Tempest apart from any other framework. Discovery allows Tempest to scan all files, read the code, and register that code in the right places. It’s used for routing, console commands, event listeners, and a lot more

And if you work with PHP, I highly recommend you take a look at it as well It's faster than your current tooling and it has both a linter and a formatter :)

Want to quickly check NPM package popularity? ✨ I've built a tiny, beautiful terminal tool to check package stats. No setup needed, just run: $ npx pkg-stats <package> Let me know what you think!

A minor version bump (new features) **should be** more interesting than a major version bump (breaking changes). v2.4.0 -> Super cool new capability! v3.0.0 -> Drop Node.js 16 v3.1.0 -> Another cool feature!

TIL about `void` in JavaScript. It evaluates an expression and returns `undefined`, so this is useful to prevent arrow functions from leaking their return value

Popularity is a great thing because that means there is an ecosystem, but that shouldn't stop you from choosing potentially better options. I chose Vue over React because, despite being less popular, its reactivity model is far better :)

Anthony Fu@antfu.me

…which is a valid reason for choosing ofc, I don’t deny that. but it would be more interesting to discuss about "I prefer this because it’s cool on…" or "I don’t want that because it has … drawback"

Not posting this over there but cookie banners are NOT the issue. Sorry to my friends in 🇺🇸, if that's your opinion, it's an L take. Making "Reject all" difficult to trick users into clicking "Accept all" is the problem. That and sharing data with 850+ "partners" to "improve services"...
