Reminds me of a story from WW2 where Citroën was forced by the occupying Nazis to build trucks. They’d get shot for sabotage if the trucks all came off the line broken, so they mis-stamped the dipsticks and let the mechanics deal with the engines seizing after an oil change hundreds of miles away.

yes this is straight out of the cia handbook for sabotage it’s aimed at people in their regular course of work
