Guys... GUYS, listen. I am begging you all to think bigger! The Atmosphere may be a fun space to explore how familiar services and apps interact—but it's still just social media. The protocol enables us to change behaviors and solve *systemic* problems It's the thing that gets us TO the thing.

zeu@zeu.dev

this is why i love ya'll

I am thinking pretty big and agree with your thread here. Who do you think needs to hear this? How should it be explained? How can we help support you in what you’re doing with tracklist?

Aside from devs? I believe AT Proto is nearing the stage where we need a platform with impact capital and grant funding. If the community events do not bring us together, then they’re failing to serve people like me at the expense of attending. Messaging across the board must take the gloves off

OK, I'm still not seeing how / what you're reacting to - I respect your PoV. Did you not like the announcement blog post? Or the placeholder conf website? Can you give me an example of messaging that would resonate for you?

I’m reacting to an overall sentiment distilled into a meme that’s (nothing personal to who made it) got the whole thing backwards. And it’s reflective of AT/Atmosphere’s ability to like, take itself seriously. The protocol enables much more than making friends; I think that’s missing from comms

Welcome to decentralized ecosystems! There is no central theme or comms manager. I take this pretty intently (serious / playful are stances). One technique I use, is leading with joy. People are joining and building with us, because it's a fun crew. I think, absolutely, there's room for revolution

Come on man, thats BS and you know it—what's the point of reducing what Im saying to "revolution"? You invest a great deal of your time and effort in what, throwing pizza parties? I know that's not true. Let's not throw our hands up at friction and pretend like the stakes aren't higher than ever

I appreciate it, and I know you care. I'm just not interested in repackaging my feelings into long-form debate at the moment. We can still talk one on one if you want. I believe you have my email.

Hmm. Not debate - helpful if you can write a little shorter than book length & longer than microblog to share your POV. I agree that there are many messages that different audiences are receptive to - so I’d love to hear one of yours. We agree - more needed. Please help or give me direction.

All I'm saying is if the message is: Come make friends and have fun with hobby projects, then that's what you're going to get. But the message can also be: Build transformative tools that empower your community like never before—then you challenge devs with cushy salaries to think: who can I help?

As someone helping grow and support the ecosystem from when people first enter - I'm still going to focus on play and joy and hobbies as a starting point. You're past that, so I'm asking for your help, in long form, of writing what support you need, and others like you.

fwiw the reason I'm trying to build something "transformative" with Skyreader was because I experimented with a bunch of hobby projects. multiple entry points are valid imo
