Yeah that's the main crime series I was alluding to... It's true that institutional racism in the police force was a big factor in how much they bungled (and in some cases actively sabotaged) these investigations, but the phantom DNA certainly did NOT help either.

knew a serial killer. Lived with me for a while (long story.) Claimed 26 without naming names, is suspected now of at least 48 killings. Cops from all over the country wanted to talk to him. But the DAs for the two he was convicted of were in too much of a hurry to execute him so tough luck I guess.

there was a guy who got the custom plate "NULL" in the hopes that he wouldn't get any tickets because the system would mistake him for people not filling in the form correctly... but instead when people didn't fill in the form correctly he just got sent their ticket. He played himself.

You've got to point them so they can collect evidence from a fine line. It's not like the cotton is radioactive or anything, so it's okay.

Probably handling the cotton without gloves as it was being fed into a machine, I can't imagine it was already on the swab when contamination occured.
