BREAKING: In a loss for voters, the Minnesota Supreme Court upheld a state law requiring absentee ballots to include a witness signature. As a result, absentee voters must continue to: ✔️mark ballots in the presence of a witness ✔️sign a certificate stating all voter eligibility requirements are met

Virginia used to have that requirement but I believe it has been removed. However, if someone wants help with the mechanics of filling out the paperwork, they can get it, just as they can at the actual polling place when not voting absentee.

How many folks have made allegations that someone other than themselves filled out their absentee ballot & sent it in w/o their knowledge? Not to say it couldn't happen- as parents of 20-somethings who have moved back in then out again, we have had ballots sitting around that never were submitted 😫

What? Since when? Do voters in NC have to have someone in the polling booth with them? OMG who would tolerate that invasion of privacy. I feel bad for Democrats in red states. It's why I'd NEVER live in the south. #VoteAnyway

That's ridiculous. Voting should be private. WHO CHOSE THE MINNESOTA SCOTUS, and why are THEY allowed to do this AT THE LAST MINUTE? #InvestigateSCOTUS I'd bet GOP control that state, or this wouldn't happen. #DumpGOP in every state.

It should make people angry and more intent on #VOTEBLUE and toss all GOP that BETRAYED THEIR VOTERS RIGHTS AND PRIVACY. Then dump your SCOTUS that are clearly GOP PUPPETS. Minnesota GOP last minute change in law. Watch gop try this all over. #VOTEBLUEANYWAY

Gotta wonder how many of those ballots are submitted with "John Q Public" on the witness line ....

Meanwhile, in Oregon, all ballots arrive at our homes 3 weeks before election day for the past 25 years. I can take my time deciding on the issues and candidates. Then I drop it off at a nearby ballot dropbox. All free. All super easy. No hassles. It seems crazy to me to do it any other way.

Agree. In my state we get a ballot mailed on request, fill it out, and put it out for the mailman to take. It gets there every time. Only GOP states have privacy violating, last minute changes in rules. Trump voted by mail, but "suddenly' hates it. DeJoy wants to privatize the USPS. #SayNo
