Ah yes very easy to see plastic or insanely easy to see aluminum vs small metal spike that have lodged themselves into people's esophagus... hmm Of course the best course of action in either case is wiping the damn thing after cleaning but still this was silly

bsky.app/profile/zeni... Is a serious matter uwu

Sorry it took so long for me to respond, I got distracted Here’s three links to studies and warnings on it, all I did was a simple internet search “wire brush metal piece deaths” www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview... aao-hnsfjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1177/... www.facs.org/for-medical-...

The more I’m on this app the more I can’t differentiate truth and satire. Somebody (maybe many somebodies) somewhere see this a delicate vegan dish and I wouldn’t be surprised. As a matter of fact, I expect it.🤪

Actually, if you're not allergic to either of those, here's a better option: use onion or lemon half-slices, half-wrapped in the foil - those have additional ingredients that will work out the fat and oil that's charred on the grill! (sodium hydroxide is also an option if you can find food-safe)

I have twice at a restaurant had a piece of wire in my steak It’s because the barbecue grill they’re using they’re using a wire brush on Please get a coconut brush or a non-wire brush for the grill

Smh. Sorry to hear that. It's absolutely a thing. It's not the most common injury, so it's possible most Drs may never see a patient that has this happen, but it happens enough that it's worth checking for if the circumstances are right.

Read an article not long ago but can’t find it now. An MD started bleeding internally, spent time in hospital, other docs couldn’t figure it out. Discharged, came back again even worse within days. Nearly died before they finally checked his intestine and found a wire lodged. Scary stuff.

No. Instead: Use your grill more than 1 day a year. After using, put it on high, close it, wait until smoke stops. Before using, put it on high, close it. Let it get hot. Wait for any smoke to stop. Oil the grill with a rag and tongs if needed. Now cook. Simple.

This reminds me of a TikTok I saw a couple of years ago where a kid got a grill brush bristle stuck in his throat and was in a lot of pain for a while before the doctors took an X-ray and figured out what was going on

This Memorial Day Weekend, the goal is to grill without eating meat. Animal Ag is destroying this entire planet + all life forms once lived in pristine, naturally balanced conditions, joy + freedom, + free will taken from lives, All deserve Nature 's gifts, to live out life spans to natural demise

The metal ones are very useful for scraping old wax off barracks floors before repolishing them. First summer of infantry officer training my platoon bought all we could from Canex (post exchange in Canada) and wore them all down to nothing. They worked like a charm! We did not eat off the floor...

A former coworker had to have surgery to remove small metal pieces of the wire brush he used on his grill. They had to empty all of his intestines and most of his organs on the table to remove the metal pieces.2ft intestines.I have used a nylon brush ever since I saw his scar’s and heard his story 🤯

I'm a wire bristle in my stomach survivor (summer of 2022). But the doctor did send me home with a cool picture of the inside of my stomach. And I got to eat chocolate ice cream for breakfast in the hospital the following morning. 😋

Imagine thinking this is an issue. Maybe buy a normal wire brush that doesn’t shed, and then look at your grill to make sure it’s clean rather than covered in shrapnel after cleaning? Instead you want to melt nylon on the grill? This really is Trump’s dumb America

Unfortunately, the average national educational scores are far too low. You have to be able to trust your population before you can allow them to have nice things. They may consider implementing a program for more intelligent states such as Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. 😆🐣🍫🪀

If only there were a government body with the authority to “issu[e] and enforc[e] mandatory [safety] standards”, or maybe even to “ban[] consumer products if no standard would adequately protect the public.” But I guess all we have is social media posts 🤷🏻‍♂️

I heard about this, this is real. ----------------------------------------- A metal brush can leave broken-off bristles. Bristles half an inch long can get on your burger/hot dog/chicken/steak/etc. You swallow one or more bristles. Now they're poking holes in your intestines, etc. This is bad.

Sorry, no information released by this regime’s agencies is credible or valid anymore. I’ll need to hear this from independent, peer reviewed sources. Oh wait, I’m a disabled American! I don’t get to do things like grill, or eat food! I forgot. Gruel only, for me.

Don't eat the foam cup or plastic sporks, or drink from the gas pump nozzle if you are traveling. Is this the Memorial Day message from the t-dump White House? I'm not on Trufe Social, so I don't see the offal, er, official, White House posts. Do they know you clean your grill when it's hot?

That happened to me years ago. One metal piece from the brush in my pork tenderloin went right into my tongue. Ouch. Thank goodness I didn’t swallow it. Tetanus shot followed.

I was certain that by now someone would’ve informed me that those are actually made out of ivory & the tears of orphans, or that scientists recently found they’re capable of causing something they’re calling ‘supercancer’
