In 2025 (less than 30 days away), PayPal will start selling your transaction history for targeted advertising. I very highly recommend logging into your account and going to Settings > Data & Privacy > Personalized Shopping. If you're reading this, turn that off RIGHT NOW before you forget.

Important to note, this is illegal in California, North Dakota, and Vermont. In those states, you have to opt in to this "service," which they will most likely be hiding behind some sort of "enhanced purchases" feature that they work to make it sound like anything but what it actually is.

Thank you!!! I have a US biz acct it is there. How to find. In app, upper left corner hit the 3 lines in circle, bottom of first screen is profile and support. Hit profile. Next screen hit data and privacy. Next manage shared info and personalized shopping next screen toggle off.

Luckily they banned me without reason so not my problem. (Still shitty situation) luckily with zelle it’s only account to account transactions.

I remember the outrage when some early versions of Windows (95? XP?) “phoned home” for activation and telemetry.

That option isn't on my account (Netherlands). But I guess paypal feels like they aren't making enough money from the fees they force and the money they steal by closing peoples accounts for "breaking ToS" anymore...

now we wait to see that they dont respect out choice by having that setting not actually affect anything(sorry, twitter's whole mess has turned me to be forever skeptical that any user changes will stick from these kind of sites)
