In 20 minutes I'll be streaming the original Resident Evil (via the Steam version) which is actually my first time touching the game at all. I've only known the remake before. The Resident Evil Marathon kicks off in earnest so let's see how well the OG holds up! www.twitch.tv/bitnerdgames

I would definitely recommend the classic rebirth patch. Adds options for not only higher resolutions but you can get virtual resolutions to make it look like 1996 and also enables the turn from RE3 and reloading outside the menu.

I might genuinely like this game more than the remake. It's much more streamlined and less time-wasty than the GameCube version, and whether that's a positive or negative will depend on you.

Really looking forward to seeing how someone playing it for the first time in 2026 is like, for me nostalgia blinds any possible fair criticism I could potentially make...
